I believe people are starting to put aside some differences as we are all aware of the upcoming invasion of new users that will soon overwhelm us. With all those new users, it will disrupt our little cultural equilibrium we've got going on and things will change once again.
Imagine it like this. For the past three years everyone in Offtopic has been kept inside a single room, talking with each other, getting to know each other's quirks, and identifying the people who stand out. Over time people would trickle out of the room, some others would wander in, but after three years, there's noticeably less people in the room than when they first started. The conversations are dying down and we all kind of know how things will go.
However we all get news that in a few days, a massive rush of new individuals are going to enter the room with us, chattering about all of their ideas, questioning things about the room that we've already known for years, and trying to make themselves stand out from the massive crowd of anons.
We may feel a bit threatened by the change and all the unknown factors that come with it, but in the end it's all a part of being a community. We'll band together and face the change head on, and though we'll probably lose a few compatriots along the way, some of the new users will fit right in to our old ways.
I know many are going to attack the newbies with memes and a bit of vitriol, but I hope most of us will at least try to integrate them into our little internet home. The best we can do is to try and teach them about or little culture so they can become a part of it and make it grow into something cool rather than spamming the with hate and making them more likely to spam us with things we don't like or want in the forum.
Guess we'll see how it all goes.

Meh some will be cool and may stay, it's vast majority people are scared off

I don't see the problem. Maybe new people might mean actual discussion.

I'm sure this was nice based on the first sentence. But I don't read post this long on my best day.

It's not an invasion, it's a war. Recently we suffered a lot from this "update" thing. Also, we are seeing more intruders than usual. Unfortunately, with the release of Destiny 2, #Destiny, our main enemy, has increased it's numbers. But on the bright side, conflict has increased in the past few days between the old #Destiny haters with the kinderguardians. We're about to take a lot of damage. But with the right leader, we might just be able to counter attack and win this war once and for all.
#Ronforpresident2017
We will assimilate them as B.net has assimilated others before us. Some will leave others made of sterner stuff will carry on. It is up to us to teach them the ways of old.
