Its true you just don't get to play year two content because year one content is being upgraded to year two. 1. destiny takes money to run on servers. 2. Buying the TTK supports bungie. Buying destiny is like when you register your car to drive on the road. If you got a car registered to drive, you would renew after a year. If you bought destiny in year one, you would buy expansion after a year. --- You are lucky they even let you play because driving on a expired license is illegal. maybe they should just make a subscription to play destiny? then you could complain about expansions costing money over time.

  • I supported them buying the game and 2 dlcs. Obviously that doesn't count.

  • Your analogy is stupid. This is like if I bought a car and then the dealership came back and were like "Hey give us more money and we'll add spinners and 40" rims." And I was like "No, I want to keep driving the car how it is." And they were like "-blam!- you!" and took out the engine.

  • 1. P2P. Sony and Microsofts servers take care of the other crap. Bungie's do minimal work online ting patches and maybe account related stuff. 2. Lol no, no it doesn't. They made back their entire budget for this game almost a year ago. They don't need anymore money to provide content. I understand it's a business, and that's what businesses do, but this is exploitation of the customer base. And the worst part is that everyone willingly bends over and allows Bungie/Activison to shove their cold cash-grabbing fist into their asshole while praising and defending them for it.

  • This game is ONLINE only meaning you have to connect to servers. regardless of what these servers are providing (data) you need it to play.

  • Nobody's asking for the new stuff free. Just add it in, instead of locking the game. And they obviously don't HAVE TO, or the would have done that from the get go. You think it's a coincidence this starts one the season pass owners would be effected to? Think, man.

Actually they run p2p servers which is why they're so shit. They're not even servers.

  • This is honestly the dumbest analogy I've ever heard in my life. I mean seriously man, congrats. That's a special kind of stupid.

  • umm bungie don't run no god damn servers! bungie just match make and talk shit all the heavy lifting is done on the P2P consoles they did this despite it being crap just to save money. They know it means shitty pvp for most players but they don't care. and buying destiny is not like a car in any way shape or form, for you to even think it might be suggests you are either from the EU or really not that bright... (USA taxes cars differently from state to state)

  • Destiny uses p2p. Not much servers are involved.

  • If there was a subscription to play and the DLC cost $20 I would be okay with that. Everything is out in the open but when Bungie removes content calling it an "Expansion", that's just a joke and not a very funny one. Bungie sold more copies of Destiny in PREORDER than other AAA games sold in total. They made enough money to leave the servers on for a while.

  • And that's just it. I don't like the price, but if that was that, and we still had the regular game to play I'd have been irritated at the price, but I wouldn't have said shit about filing complaints or any of that. It's the dishonest way they're doing things that I take issue with, not trying to make a buck.

  • If people let this go, then in 3 years, everybody will be doing it. It's shady, misleading business to spring that on people.

It's a -blam!-ing miracle that games like Elder Scrolls Online, Warframe, planetside 2, guild wars 2, league of legends, etc. have enough money to keep the lights on in the office. It's a delayed subscription model. Every 3 months a new xpac. So 20/3 is $6.70 a month. Then a big one for 40 so now your subscription fee has doubled. Guild Wars 2 is a perfect example of how to break that model. Buy the game once and you're done. No monthly fee. And when xpacs do happen it's every couple of years for 40 bucks? So let's see. 2 years is 24 months. 40/24 and your at less than 2 dollars a month. All on their own severs as well. Hmmmm

Hmmm...I thought we didn't like those ...

  • The difference is, they don't spring them on you, or lock the game if you decline.
