This Is Why We Don't Have Trading. -DeeJ

So I saw this video on the forums. It's a great video overall but a lot of people ask why we don't have trading and at 8:41 in the video he tell's you pretty much why. Overall a great video might answer some things you were wondering about as well.

  • One of the things I've never understood about this game is being talked about around 2:30 (regarding why sparrows don't have weapons). I understand your point about not wanting to get off a vehicle if it has really Badass weapons mounted to it. What confuses me though is how Bungie can develop the Halo games, which had such a variety of usable vehicles that were pretty well balanced during the story arc (although they could be unbalanced at times during pvp, admittedly), but not include any vehicles worth noting in Destiny. Yes, i know we have sparrows, and yes, i know we can ride pikes and use cabal "tanks" during certain missions, but why aren't there any vehicles that make you stop for a second and say, "Whoa, that was cool as hell." Speaking from my own experience, and I'm sure most people who have followed the Halo games will concur, I still remember how awesome it was to drive the tank the first time. I can't forget going toe to toe in a Ghost fight against another player or the AI. And I remember with great fondness the mid-air dogfights that took place right after I got to pilot a Banshee the first time. The armed vehicles in those games broke up any monotony there might have been, added a totally different experience to the game, and were downright epic. I understand why you said what you said about the vehicles but coming from a developer who has set the mold for many other games when it comes to vehicles, i don't think it is a very valid point. None of the story missions in any of the Halo games were broken or boring due to vehicle encounters, in fact, at the higher difficulties, those vehicle segments were grueling and intense. If you could balance vehicles in several games with a similar play style in the past, why wasn't it done in Destiny? I know this is straying from your original topic, and it wont merit a response, but myself and many other players share this thought and opinion. It would be cool to hear from the man himself, but i know you're busy and have a job to do.
