How is Crota even summoned for the Raid? We destroy his soul in the Eris mission, which was required for his return. Destiny ignores plot let alone plot holes. This was evident from the second launch mission where the Speaker says that he could tell you of the past and present, but does not. Ever. Or when Stranger doesn't have time to explain why she doesn't have time to explain.

According to various ghost fragment grimoire cards Crota is essentially unkillable in our world. In the wakening we just stop him from coming to our world again. The raid takes place in "the twilight world under the dead star eye". It's not in our reality- but it's a place where Crota isn't immortal.

My thought is that Eris' dialogue makes it sound as if that mission is the end, with no mention anywhere of having to find and destroy Crota himself. At least the Vault of Glass gets a partial nod from being mentioned at the end the The Archive mission. Gotta love Destiny's method of storytelling. lol It's all speculation.

If u look closely his soul disappears

I believe when we destroy his soul we stop him from reincarnating in our world. However, he still exists in the Hive's world. And that supposedly explains why in the trailers it shows Crota having flesh and what not and now he is a glowing skeleton. This is just what I read on the forums but it sounds good to me. I just think he shouldn't have a sword now.

It wasn't required. It was just a large percentage of his strength. Throughout the Eris missions you severely weaken Crota by destroying the hands of Crota, might of Crota, etc. otherwise there is no way 6 guardians could kill a god.

didnt we kill a Vex god?...
-
Yes but with boosted damage Hence "the guardians make their own fate"
-
im talking about the heart. not VoG
-
You said "vex God" so I believed that you were talking about atheon
-
hes not a god, hes a leader of his own group. even he bows to the heart

I was under the impression you were supposed to do the raid and them that mission.
