Exotic for exotic, legendary for legendary, ascendant for ascendant, etc.
okay bungie?
You want us to grind.
FINE!
Go add a broker/vendor in tower that charges a glimmer commission fee depending on the quality of the item.
All traded weapons or armor progress will reset.
And trade vouchers will only drop rarely and randomly. (Praise RNG-sus!)
Only one item can be traded per voucher from both parties.
For those of you who don't know what a voucher is, it is a pass that allows you to redeem a transaction
Let me emphasize "rare" because a lot of people still don't understand this concept and insist that people will exploit this system.
It would be a waste of your time to invest in playing destiny for an opportunity to get a trading voucher let alone a gallarhorn if you ever get one, just to sell it.

More info here if you want to read that addresses haterz addressing real world trading.
Would it be fair if I have two gallahorns and want to give my friend one? I feel it is, Especially when the trade vouchers would drop as exclusively as an exotic bounty. To limit exploitation, add in a bunch of factors that would make trading a pain in the ass; that the only way you could do it is for BOTH parties to have a voucher, Have a ton of glimmer. Basically you could only trade once in a blue moon and the opportunity would only present itself to the most dedicated players.
As for the real world currency for a gallahorn. Any one who seriously plays the game long enough for a gallahorn to drop is not likely to want to get rid of it for actual money. Especially when trading vouchers themselves are as scarce as an exotic. Maybe more scarce.
Also, I have two gallarhorns and it is ridiculous that some people who play longer than i and still dont; And I can't just give it away to one of my friends for say his... hard light? With the amount of time I've invested into the game I would not throw away an opportunity ( to trade my Gjallarhorn for say another exotic I really want) for real world currency. Not a likely senario, I'm sure it could happen though. For an large amount of money.
But people aren't likely to pay a high value for a gallahorn with the chance that xur will have it the next week. Also there are millions of people playing this game that have gallarhorn. How high could the price even get?
Idk... let's hear some creative regulating to prevent real world trading.

Dislike. Trading will only further inflate the level of noobs within the game.

Strongly disagree. I'm perfectly happy with no trading, and Bungie seems to be too. Go ahead and cross one name off that silly, useless petition of yours to account for my counter vote.

Edited by IAMZLATAN: 1/4/2015 6:39:06 PMI'd love to have trading implemented in to Destiny but as the game currently is, I just don't see it happening as there are a few issues that Bungie will have to deal with: 1. Less Playing Time Bungie are obviously targeted on playing-hours. Naturally the more people progress towards their complete targeted loadouts, the less motivated they are to play and so it results in fewer playing-hours. If people were to be able to trade then they'd reach this stage earlier as they essentially have two ways to reach it: 1. Dropping gear they desire 2. Dropping gear of equal value to the gear they desire and also the 'trading-commendation' you referred to.
The reduced playing hours could be avoided by having too much 'good' content in the game, however this wouldn't happen as that's inefficient releasing of said content from Bungie.
2. Exotic & Legendary Gear In order for it to be viable, Bungie would have to dramatically increase the number of high quality exotic and legendary gear in the game as currently there are not enough to support a trading function. However as there are limited weapon and armour types, solely increasing the number of items on the market will lead to limited differentiation. Solution for both of 1. Less Playing Time and the 2. Gear issue IMO the only way to do this would be to: A) increase the number of weapon and armour types (possibly having class-specific weapons), and B) add in the ability to equip multiple exotics weapons However this is both time-consuming and costly to Bungie. 3. Bungie's Capabilities Another issue of a trading system are glitched exploits. In every other game I've played that had a trading system, there were always ways to duplicate items during the 'trade-process'. Bungie aren't even capable of implementing two Raids (their pièce de résistance of each release) without numerous glitches. In their current set-up, I don't see how they can nail down a glitch-free trading system in which Devs on other games have continuously failed at. Solutions A) Bungie either develop a new trading-mechanic that 'swaps' items rather than the current 'duplication/deletion' mechanic B) Hire better Devs. Again, both are costly to Bungie Final mention is that some believe that the game isn't pure-RNG. In that because there's private-loot-streams there's algorithms in place that can assess what you need to reach your predicted desired loadout based on the most powerful guns in the game and frequency of use of guns for what others get. i.e. People that have Ghorn use it in their loadout 90% of the time. If you use RLs and don't have the Ghorn it works out this is what you need and so adds weighting to your drops to reduce the chances of this dropping. This reduces the chances of you 'completing' and so reaching your desired loadouts. TL;DR
It could happen in the future when there's much more variety of content but in all likelihood it won't
1 ReplyNo thanks. Go out there and grind! Quit complaining

Absolutely not. It's already easy enough for newbs to get gear. FFS, you can get to lvl 31 by just buying vendor gear. Trading system is unnecessary and will lead to an even larger influx of terrible players spamming invites because they don't have enough skill to complete the end-game content that they've unlocked.

No thanks

Wouldn't work, get over it.

Disliked.

I get more MIDA Multi-Tools than I know what to do with so I would love to trade

Trading is for the bums who want Vex/Ghallhorn/Icebreaker

3 Replies-blam!- the trading System, earn it!!!

10 RepliesNever. Go earn your shit noob

Trading systems break every game they are added to. Destiny is broken enough.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE the mythoclast since RNG won't give it to me, but this would break the game. The entire game would become pointless.
-
If trading vouchers are going to be as rare as mentor missives there's no way I'll ever get one
-
I realllllllllllly want the horn but I don't want a trade system. It will break his game.

1 ReplyNo. Offer any sort of trading and gold farmers and spammers will find a way to exploit it. The only possible way is to allow trade within fireteams at the time of the drop. But even then I could see farmers selling their nightfall rewards off. Level a new character, sell another.

I like the idea. People usually like a certain weapon type and random drops will likely never meet that expectation
