Exotic for exotic, legendary for legendary, ascendant for ascendant, etc.
okay bungie?
You want us to grind.
FINE!
Go add a broker/vendor in tower that charges a glimmer commission fee depending on the quality of the item.
All traded weapons or armor progress will reset.
And trade vouchers will only drop rarely and randomly. (Praise RNG-sus!)
Only one item can be traded per voucher from both parties.
For those of you who don't know what a voucher is, it is a pass that allows you to redeem a transaction
Let me emphasize "rare" because a lot of people still don't understand this concept and insist that people will exploit this system.
It would be a waste of your time to invest in playing destiny for an opportunity to get a trading voucher let alone a gallarhorn if you ever get one, just to sell it.

Would it be fair if I have two gallahorns and want to give my friend one? I feel it is, Especially when the trade vouchers would drop as exclusively as an exotic bounty. To limit exploitation, add in a bunch of factors that would make trading a pain in the ass; that the only way you could do it is for BOTH parties to have a voucher, Have a ton of glimmer. Basically you could only trade once in a blue moon and the opportunity would only present itself to the most dedicated players.
As for the real world currency for a gallahorn. Any one who seriously plays the game long enough for a gallahorn to drop is not likely to want to get rid of it for actual money. Especially when trading vouchers themselves are as scarce as an exotic. Maybe more scarce.
Also, I have two gallarhorns and it is ridiculous that some people who play longer than i and still dont; And I can't just give it away to one of my friends for say his... hard light? With the amount of time I've invested into the game I would not throw away an opportunity ( to trade my Gjallarhorn for say another exotic I really want) for real world currency. Not a likely senario, I'm sure it could happen though. For an large amount of money.
But people aren't likely to pay a high value for a gallahorn with the chance that xur will have it the next week. Also there are millions of people playing this game that have gallarhorn. How high could the price even get?
Idk... let's hear some creative regulating to prevent real world trading.

Down-voted for still being a sh*tty idea, no matter how many times you people bring it up.

If they did introduce trading they could only allow 1 trade a week per character and also when trading you can only trade to receive an item for the character selected so you can't do nightfall with a titan, and trade for a warlock item to boost your warlock quicker, just a thought. Although I'm not that fussed about trading, if I get something I don't need I break it down for shards/energy/exotic shards etc, and if its for a different character I just vault it, I have a couple of warlock exotics in the vault and don't have a warlock yet, so everything has a use one way or another, which is probably a reason Bungie wouldn't put in trading. What I would like to see is the same system they have now with Eris where you can swap radiant energy for radiant shards and vice versa, introduced for ascendent mats, that would be very useful I think.

There can never be a trading system

We could get 100,000 likes and Bungie wouldn't do anything. Think they've proven that by now. Good luck though.

2 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 1/2/2015 7:15:43 PM*gets awarded a piece of gear from the raid/nightfall that I already have* *trades it for something I need a few minutes later* Multiply this situation by several thousand times and everyone will quickly get the items they want. The economy will break. The game as a whole becomes irrelevant, which is the LAST thing Activision wants. Won't ever happen.

I can't honestly see trade working in this game without people finding a way to exploit it. One of the only logical ways I've heard suggested for trading in this game is to open up trading for a limited time (15-20 minutes) after Raids/NF/Weekly/Strikes and only allow it for the items RNG blessed you with for that event, people that were in the fireteam from start to finish and made some kind of contribution (to weed out the AFK people). There's already a stat table, an algorithm would just need to be run against it to see who is/isn't eligible for trading at the end of a match. As a software developer and not a game developer, that may be harder than it sounds. EX: during a raid I got my 3rd chest and 2nd gauntlets for my titan (didn't get raid boots until week of iron banner that gave lvl 30 gear) and another titan in the group got his 2nd chest and 2nd boots (didn't get raid boots until week of iron banner that gave lvl 30 gear). We both eventually got the raid gear we needed our next raid but why not allow us to trade the gauntlets I didn't need, but he did, for the boots he didn't need but I did. I feel like that would be the best way to handle trades but someone will find a way to exploit it.
