Exotic for exotic, legendary for legendary, ascendant for ascendant, etc.
okay bungie?
You want us to grind.
FINE!
Go add a broker/vendor in tower that charges a glimmer commission fee depending on the quality of the item.
All traded weapons or armor progress will reset.
And trade vouchers will only drop rarely and randomly. (Praise RNG-sus!)
Only one item can be traded per voucher from both parties.
For those of you who don't know what a voucher is, it is a pass that allows you to redeem a transaction
Let me emphasize "rare" because a lot of people still don't understand this concept and insist that people will exploit this system.
It would be a waste of your time to invest in playing destiny for an opportunity to get a trading voucher let alone a gallarhorn if you ever get one, just to sell it.
Would it be fair if I have two gallahorns and want to give my friend one? I feel it is, Especially when the trade vouchers would drop as exclusively as an exotic bounty. To limit exploitation, add in a bunch of factors that would make trading a pain in the ass; that the only way you could do it is for BOTH parties to have a voucher, Have a ton of glimmer. Basically you could only trade once in a blue moon and the opportunity would only present itself to the most dedicated players.
As for the real world currency for a gallahorn. Any one who seriously plays the game long enough for a gallahorn to drop is not likely to want to get rid of it for actual money. Especially when trading vouchers themselves are as scarce as an exotic. Maybe more scarce.
Also, I have two gallarhorns and it is ridiculous that some people who play longer than i and still dont; And I can't just give it away to one of my friends for say his... hard light? With the amount of time I've invested into the game I would not throw away an opportunity ( to trade my Gjallarhorn for say another exotic I really want) for real world currency. Not a likely senario, I'm sure it could happen though. For an large amount of money.
But people aren't likely to pay a high value for a gallahorn with the chance that xur will have it the next week. Also there are millions of people playing this game that have gallarhorn. How high could the price even get?
Idk... let's hear some creative regulating to prevent real world trading.

8 RepliesAs much as I would love to trade my 5 vex for 1 g-horn I do not think there should be trading. That would break game!

1 ReplyEdited by Graelock: 1/2/2015 10:09:00 PMTrust me, I'd love nothing more than to give some of the Hunter crap I get to my wife's character, since she doesn't play a lot...but consider all the non-raiding noobs that would be sporting all raid gear, at the cost of some real world money. Paying all these Asia based websites for in game materials, currencies and equipment. It's what ruins MMO's. I disliked...bad, bad idea. By not having a trade system, you are also saving a bunch of people from being scammed online, as well. Everyone would go to these sites, paying and not getting their goods. You hear about it all the time, in the MMO world. [Edit] There's a reason why Bungie didn't put it in here.

I like the idea of trade vouchers, but perhaps just use Vanguard/Crucible Commendations instead. And it should be weapon for weapon, armor for armor too. No trading Sunbreakers for Icebreakers.

Bad idea... a trade system would break this game and produce garbage players. People would be selling stuff for real world money through paypal ect. day one.

1 ReplyNo! Even if it means I will never get that weapon I would like. Just no! I think many players have lost the fun enjoying the gameplay and are just rushing after rewards. Everyone rushed to be a level 32... Or to have that ballahorn. I don't have any of them and this is why I still enjoy the game. They may or may not come to me one day. Who knows. Meanwhile I absorb every second of gameplay in this beautiful world and enjoy every single bit that I have "earned" or that I was blessed with from RNGesus. Even if it's a shotgun that I will never ever use and just shard it. Because it's one more shard than I had before, and I'm thankful for it. Just no, to trading! Never.

This is exactly what destiny needs! Trading! I have exotics I don't want, and my friends have exotics that I want. We can trade these to get what we want. Everyone wins. I think that it should only be between friends though. And once the item is traded all progress is reset on the item.

2 RepliesBlam that. I want to trade my extra gjallarhorn for 10 helium filaments. It would be even in my book because the dude just gave me $20 on ebay.
