One of my favorite youtubers made a video on how introducing trading in the upcoming DLC will benefit the game AND increase playtime for all players. I also think it should be added, if you agree bump this thread so Bungie and others can see this. I encourage you to watch the video as the guy brings a lot of good points(Do note that the video is 13 minutes long), and if you can, share it with others.
Thank you for your time.
Edit #1: I appreciate the mixed opinions on the topic, keep on leaving your thought and suggesting how it can be viable (Or why there shouldn't be trading).
Edit #2: Nice, this post is now trending. People have different feelings on the subject, but most of them have good points nonetheless!
Edit #3: Okay, after reading a lot of people's responses, here are some of the methods many agreed on when trading gets added (Keep in mind, not all of these should apply):
*) Allowing members in the Fireteam in a Raid/Nightfall to trade what RNG has given to them, at a fixed time limit (60 Minutes sounds fair), and once the trade time expires, they can no longer trade with each other.
*) Exchanging Materials (Marks, Commendations, Raid Materials), and ONLY the same sort of Materials (Like trading Hunter's Material for Warlock/Titan material only, no trading it towards Shards/Energies).
*) Player must be at least a level 28 in order to trade.
*) Add more content into the game to make free trading viable (In otherwords, an exotic for an exotic trade, Legendary for a Legendary trade).
*) Introducing a Clan Vault to allow players in the Clan to trade with each other. Some have suggested to have new members wait for 30 days before they can trade, the same if they leave and wish to join a different Clan (A total of a 60 days gap to discourage farmers to sell exotics).
We're getting there Guardians, keep on leaving ideas to make it happen!

Nope do not want . Don't need hackers ruining the game .

2 RepliesYour favorite youtuber told players to not buy the dlc because bungie is a scam artist company. Stated he would not play Destiny anymore, especially not the new raid. In his most recent videos he talks about his raiding experience. Your favorite youtuber, is a teenage pizza face who cant make up his mind, nor is educated enough to even have an opinion about implementing trading into a game where RNG is the loot system.

It's already to easy to obtain everything. You add trading and you'll lose every hard core player which that number grows by the day since some fuvking new person can buy the game and do the same end game content as someone who's got 1000 hours there should be a huge advantage to putting in time and earning gear through rng n raids. Everyone wants a fuvking hand me down. Do the work!

Id give my second hawkmoon gjally and icebreaker to a kinderguardian.
-
Nope I would rather leave it to rng. The moment when you get it, the joy is awesome. Trading would mean people not having to put effort into getting a gun meaning an exotic is not an exotic anymore. I want hawkmoon but I would rather have it random for me. And that people would start selling it for shit, annoying.

No thanks

3 Replies"Send me $50 card for my xbox account and I'll trade you my Ghorn." Messages like that will be everywhere. Just like people selling 50's on H3. It would be annoying.

Would rather not see people pay to win. Players going into a raid for the first time in full raid gear, IB, and gjallarhorn. No thank you

3 RepliesIf you want to be in strikes with Chinese people who kill everything on the map and slow down the strike by 30 minutes, add a trading system...I could go on for hours

Not enough content for trading to happen or diversity of the content

BUMP this seriously needs to happen. Not only with weapons and armor but also materials. I have 178 spin metal that I use for absolutely nothing and my friend has a whole lot more of helium filaments that I need. Id love to trade him the mat's he needs and him give me the ones I need.
-
1 ReplyYeah, we could do that. Except no one wants to. And ever will. Ever.

3 RepliesEdited by doctor: 1/2/2015 12:12:19 AMI hope, a little after the next dlc they will introduce: -a new difficulty for VoG, that gives you top tier gear. -a new difficulty for crotas end, that gives you top tier gear. -a trading system, that even if the weapon or armor traded is maxed, it will reset. That way with all of that, it can give you different options so not all top level players look the same, and it could be fair enough for everyone to not be mad at rng.
-
No... no... no...
-
6 RepliesI don't think there is nearly enough gear in the game yet to justify a trading system!
-
No trading
-
Yes it will add motivation to actually play destiny again
-
3 RepliesThis is like the 1298341290-092-34th thread about this. And once again: No we don't.
-
5 RepliesTwo words: one word: duplication

Also, no. Trading would ruin this game. Another way to say -blam!- you to dedicated gamers.
-
No. No trading. Not at all.
-
No trading please. That would destroy this game.

I still don't see how it takes "skill" to trade your equipment that you earned from "luck" You're kind of contradicting yourself.
