EDIT: This is apparently wrong (discussion below). I will verify tonight, and delete this post if is. I'd anyone has video proof, I will delete this sooner of course. :) The next time you do it, keep an eye on your grenade recharge timer. When you energy drain, you recover a chunk of time at once. It's nor massive though, I would guess around 12% or so (just based on visual approximation). It doesn't increase the rate of recovery. Example, I'd you need 100 "grenade points" to throw a grenade, you recover 1 point per second when you have thrown one. So until you can 'nade again, you have 100 seconds. I'd you energy drain, you recover 12 "grenade points" at once, and now only need another 88 seconds to wait.

You have a helmet that replenishes grenade energy upon a melee hit, that is what is causing the jumps in recharging.

  •
It doesn't increase the rate of recovery.
This is precisely what it does. That said, you sound pretty confident so I assume you've put in some research by playing yourself. It sounds, however, like you did that research while wearing armor that grants the "Melee hits decrease grenade cooldowns" perk.

  • PS, my account is on here, so you can see my warlock hours. That doesn't mean I am right, just that I thought I was.

  • It's cool, man. I can tell that you believed what you were saying and your intention is to help spread knowledge - I'm all about that. I tested this extensively after I got a Skull of Dire Ahamkara in September, but that was awhile ago so I'll head out to a patrol this evening and refresh my understanding, too.

  • Weird, I was sure that I've seen it jump, exactly like the melee hit perk. I'll check tonight after work and delete my initial response if it is.
