Aim assist is used to balance guns. Turning it off would probably break everything.

Edited by Evdokiya: 11/7/2014 9:25:02 PMaim assist doesn't balance guns. it's used to help players that don't really have experience with shooter games. of course there are some vets that like it and that's fine too. I would just like to be able to play how i would like to. (Edit : also im not talking about the rocket launcher guided missiles if you're mistaking aim assist to that.)

No, different guns have differing amounts of aim assist. It is an invisible balancing stat. Check the database breakdown.

Show your facts then. By that i mean put a link that shows that aim assist is different on "all" guns in destiny. I've used all the gun types and they all have the same aim assist. it's just that if your gun has a scope and it gets drag it's more noticeable since you're zoomed in.(plus it depends on the enemies movement, direction of movement, and how you're moving also.)

Edited by Evdokiya: 11/8/2014 12:25:11 AMare you talking about the handling numbers? if so that has nothing to do with aim assist in just makes your weapon handle slower or faster. plz tell me what stat or part you are referring to.

that guy is talking about the handling of the weapon. handling affects how fast you move the weapon ( to aim and more). and he's talking about the snap aim of a revolver with good handling and one with worse. (i have thorn, last word, and fate bringer so i know it's just the handling stat.) so it has nothing to do with aim assist. since it's just caused by the handling of the weapon.
