The ability to vault strange coins should be patched out and gear should be bound to character upon equip because people are exploiting the ability to create 3 characters of the same class and share the gear and coins among them thereby allowing them to gain more coins than designed for use with Xur and allowing them to grind for the raid 3x as much. This is an exploit. Just like the cave. Just like pushing Atheon off the cliff. They must be punished. Bungie make it so.
EDIT: LOL the amount of hate is delicious. I'm wondering how many of you complaining are people who bitch about how Xur is ruining your precious exotics yet farm like this for strange coins. Hypocrits!
2nd EDIT: I like a posters suggestion to make Strange Coins bound to the character they were earned on. This would easily solve half the issue. The other half addressing people who are doing the raid to increase their RNGesus attempts could be likely fixed with some tweaks to the rewards. Such as guaranteeing at least a minimum reward of something decent and worth their time. It seems that people feel entitled to this method because of Bungie's lackluster loot mechanics. Also, another suggestion to allow the other two character slots to be filled with only the two other classes the person doesn't already have would be nice as well.

2 RepliesSuch a troll post. I have one character of each class and share materials, coins and weapons between them, because the game would be unbearable to make a 2nd and 3rd character otherwise.

Edited by thelilman92: 11/5/2014 6:07:02 PMIt's not an exploit at all. I'm not someone who complains that Xür came with an exotic I got from RNGESUS, so let's get that out of the way. But honestly, how does how someone else plays affect you? It honestly doesn't. You and your supporters who are trying to bind strange coins to their characters is an asinine idea! Xür comes once a week, with randomized exotic items, I may be looking for something specific for one of my three classes and if I EARNED my strange coins by grinding the weekly 3 times then it should be up to MY discretion of how I spend those strange coins! All I can think of when people say this is an exploit is, "If you can't beat them, join them." There is nothing stopping you or anyone else from doing the same as the rest of us; for you to try to stop us from doing so makes you a total douche.

1 ReplyUm no. Dumb suggestion... I wouldn't be able to pick up any more weapons if all of my gear bound itself to that character. No thanks
-
Have you ever played video games before?
-
lol you're joking right? There's a pretty big difference between trading with other players and trading between YOUR OWN DAMN CHARACTERS. So you're basically saying that if I earn coins/gear/whatever, then trade it to another one of MY CHARACTERS, that somehow nullifies me earning it in the first place? Getting more stuff on other characters is THE EXACT REASON WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE 3 SEPERATE CHARACTERS WHO CAN TRADE BETWEEN THEMSELVES. This may just be the single most idiotic, asinine, dumbass idea I've ever seen on these forums.
-
This is completely ridiculous. You earned those coins under the SAME account. So what if some players make 3 warlocks, 3 Titans, or 3 hunters. Get over yourself and stop trying to control what everyone else does
-
Sorry. I prefer to share. If items are bound to one character, I don't have time in a week to grind multiple. But if I have coins in one person, and want to purchase something for the other that I didn't have time to run all week... So what if new characters level faster? You still have to run content for the rewards. You earned the rewards, should be able to spend them how you want.
-
If they choose to lose the benefits of having all 3 classes to max one guy, that is on them. It's not an exploit. They might level one guy faster, but they are greatly increasing the time required to max other classes because of wasted end game items. They are missing out on plenty of exotics and armor for the classes that they cant use. Xur is also completely fair, and adds just enough variety and reward on a slow week to make up for it. Pull your panties up and roll the dice again instead of creating ideas born of hate and spite for someone having more than you, or executing a better plan.

2 RepliesTroll post.

Shut up, Meg.

7 RepliesLol OP thinks you can farm for coins. What a moron. The most anyone can get is 27 a week. It's the same across the board for everyone. Completing the weekly heroic 3 times isn't farming.
-
Im sorry we got wise and used all three characters to get the most out of the game, I have a 29 titan, 28 warlock, and a 28 hunter so iv put in my time and effort with all three. You back off my 78 strange coins haha
-
3 Repliesthis isn't an exploit, gear for other character can be earned on a main character, so it was obviously designed to share across accounts, otherwise you wouldn't be able to get hunter gear on a warlock. Do some research or just play the game before you try to make comments like this that just make you look ignorant. Using multiple character classes to earn gear faster is not an exploit, the only advantage it gives you is raiding a few more time, which is still putting in the time and effort you would normally have to.

8 RepliesEdited by RocknGar: 11/5/2014 2:17:19 PMSays the guy with only one character, are you lazy? do yo know how much work and time it takes to lvl up a 20 lvl an alt character? What I read in your post is : I'm lazy so I don't want to make an alt, I can't Stand other people who worked hard to lvl up more than one character because the get more items than I am so I need to bitch about it...

Edited by Snoo: 11/5/2014 2:28:19 PMNot well thought. Basically you want to exclude people running multiple of the same character or you want to prevent exchange of pretty much everything between characters in general. Personnally I see no point in this since I could not care less how fast people level up their gear. It simply does not affect or harm me (or you) in any way. However from your point of view it seems to be nothing but jealousy. Most likely you missed a piece you wanted from Xur cause of insufficient coins and/or are stuck on your current level only because you do not have sufficient shards. With one character you can obtain sufficient amount of coins per week (>17 and even >23) provided you do the daily and a public event each day and run the weekly on 28 and of course nightfall. Also try to run the vault each week (if only for the shards you obviously need to upgrade). And yes with only one character you should ask yourself if you really need that item from Xur or better wait for something he might have next week you want/need even harder. TLDR: do more to obtain the required amount of coins each week. Even better, make a second character and you are fine.

I agree. Please destroy this game. I embrace all Nerfs. Let's make this game as horrible as possible.
-
Guess what? I have have 3 characters all different classes and 2 are 30 and 1 is 28. Stop whining. When they get all the gear they want, it will be boring for them to have a wasted character slot, until new raids come out at least.
-
You're an idiot! And no I don't agree with you crybaby.
-
2 RepliesDude, seriously get a life. Who cares how other people manage their coins. Instead of hating or caring, why don't you make three characters and farm coins then? If you don't want to, then stop whining or making such a dumb forum about it. Also, I earn my exotics either through nightfall, randoms, bounties, or even from Xur. You earn your exotics anyway possible. You shouldn't be concerned with how people earn them. Just getting an exotic of choice is satisfactory enough.

wow, you've got outvoted 10:1

Everyone needs to relax. There hasn't been an expansion pack yet; this is the first set of raiding. This company is as predictable as they come. Eventually bosses won't drop loot... They will drop a currency and you will stockpile the currency and head to the tower and then purchase the gear of your choice via the currency. Then hard mode raid will be more difficult and drop slightly better gear. This gear will not be able to be purchased via the currency and will be the "trophy" for completing the hard mode. It will have a more strict loot table but will still have it's on set of rng. This liberal view of everyone gets a trophy is starting to get pretty tiring to read. Everyone feels bad for you that you don't have the item you are longing for. Keep at it, maybe one day you'll get it. It's all random, believe me I have more xv10s, chatter whites, glass minuets, and aspects of glass than I'll ever need.

1 ReplySome people like to go outside.

Making multiple toons doesn't give everyone that much of an edge... I deleted an alt warlock to make a second Titan just to finish getting the pieces I need. 8 complete raids later still no pieces...
