Well for the past three patches I've had to post my opinions regarding shutting down negative points made by the community against Bungie. Well folks, many of you thought it impossible, but this time I have nothing but bad reviews for Bungie on this patch (Aside from one thing), but before everyone leaps in here with the "told you" comments and turns this into a flame fest, I want to enforce a Constructive Opinions Only rule. Basically please only post constructive comments about what I have to post either adding to this opinion, or against it. Negativity or flaming will result in you being muted & reported, this is why I have added the poll to the thread, if you're going to post garbage here, just don't, use the poll instead to voice your opinion. Also, another note, like my prior thread there's a long read below. If you want to skip that, go ahead and get to the bottom, but the content contains some thoughts of reasoning here, it's worth the read. Alright then, so let's talk about the big bad random teleport thing that was added today. A large number of us have been voicing our opinions against this for the past week, I think to the point where the hotfix was actually delayed a week so internal conversations could be had, but yet they still decided to proceed with the change, and even further, they left out some of the issues we have been asking for fixing over the past few weeks. So why exactly did they do this then? There's a few things I could think of, and most of them don't look very "promising" for the future of this game. Let me break these down: 1. Continuation of "Our Way Or No Way": This would be the worst thing for Bungie to do here, is to continue their notion of "play the way we want you to", after stripping the game of the loot caves before the fixing of the loot system, changing the raid mechanics (twice now), as well as many other things. Need I remind you Bungie, that as a developer you no longer have the "direction" of the game aside from DLC past launch? Your community is the driving force of the game once you launch it because they have the power of their wallets either for or against you. It would be in your best interests to stop living in that fantasy world and start listening to your players. 2. PvP Catering: Lie as much as you want, we're not blind to the continual catering towards the Crucible and your PvP community here, and I see a very high possibility that you held the patch until after last week's update where, surprise, now PvP players can get to Level 30 before doing the Raid, also, we don't need another PvP event in the game, the players have spoken countless times in polls and threads with over 90% preferring PvE & PvE Content. It's time to stop giving the PvP kids what they want, and start joining the majority here. Bungie, and specifically DeeJ here, you have a responsibility to connect with your community, and only doing things in PvP isn't really what we want to see. Why don't you host a "Race To X" event like Infinity Ward does with CoD Ghost's Extinction Mode? Set up a Bungie Raid team and face off with a Community Team, if they beat you to victory, give them an emblem. 3. Ignorance is Bliss: I don't see this so much as likely as the first two, but it's simply possible that they are thinking that too many people completed the Hard Raid and they wanted to balance things out. True, too many people glitched out Atheon with the "Push-off" method, but once you fixed that, they'd get demolished in the boss battle anyways without the right teamwork. The patch broke strategy for the raid, and honestly, you need to read up on what raiding really is, it's a coordinated team-based effort, IE: Strategy. No matter the reason, or kind of silly response from DeeJ, it looks like the thousands have spoken in negativity towards Bungie here, and the outlook doesn't really look good for Bungie or the game in the future if they keep this up. Now, I've defended their actions before, and that was only because they had a justified reason for doing so. This time, there was no justification, and so they deserve all of this criticism that's coming their way. The Bottom Section (TL;DR): What Needs to Happen This section just might as well be my most heated response I have to offer Bungie, but you had it coming with this patch, I'm really finding it hard to put it easier without using curses and semi-violent notions, but I'll keep it short & sweet. Your "raid-team", needs to be fired, all of them. I don't care that they gave us an "awesome" experience, but if you're going to be half-minded about the real problems, and keep doing what you think the players want, while completely ignoring the voices of the majority, you don't belong in the field of video game development, and DeeJ, you're not excused from this firing squad either. You're supposed to be "our" voice in the manner, I don't care if they laugh at you or say "no", you get back in there and strongly voice our negativity right back at them. You keep doing what you're doing right now, and our voice here will come down like a hammer to your DLC sales. Now you might laugh at the fact that many already have the expansion pass and are in for the long haul, but beyond that, your future is looking very dark. Now, with that out of the way, here's what I think needs to happen on the game perspective NOW: 1. Remove the random teleport in Normal, leave it in Hard: Normal is supposed to be an introduction to the raid, where people learn mechanics and good teamwork. Hard demands perfection and execution. Randomly teleporting is alright in Hard, but bad for Normal. 2. Cancel all PvP events for the next 3 months, only run PvE events: We've had enough of your silly Crucible and your "PvP Preference", get your head out of the clouds and put it where it belongs, with the majority. 3. More Developer Interaction: This is the "big" one, the developers need to get involved in these forums, beyond just DeeJ and a few Ninjas/Mentors. They need to be subjected to our actual opinions, not the relayed stuff. 4. Faster Reaction: And I don't want to see in the Weekly Updates "We'll get to it", Now, means Now (Today, Tonight, 4 Hours, you get the point). I don't care how long, or how hard you need to work, remember, you're still in a work environment, even in a gaming company, when your customers demand action, you take that action, and you do it ASAP, not "when we feel like it". I honestly would rather see a two page long list of things you're going to be doing for us Tomorrow, rather than a very colorless image of what you'd like to do in a month. Also, weekly "Hotfixes", no more, get rid. We want fixes done and released to us as you finish them. That's all I've got this time around. As I've said, this is a very heated response, and I'm sure many of you didn't think I could do it after my "You should get the DLC" post, well, always happy to prove you wrong, let's send them a clear message of "NO" here.
