No, it removes tactics, planing and roles

My answer is no and for the following reason, I know "hardcore gamers" will call me a noob and say "you're just saying that because you suck". I am and have been an avid gamer since the NES and I love a good challenge but this particular HOT FIX is horrible, I'm glad Bungie wants everyone to be able to perform every roll but in reality not everyone is a sharpshooter just like not everyone is great at close quarters. Being able to assign roles lets the team: 1- gear accordingly And 2 - play on the strengths of each teammate. The hot fix removes this because now THERE WILL BE A SET BUILD(which I thought BUNGIE was against) to face atheon, no personalized choices because you NEED to be ready for those oracles so everyone will sport their strongest AR and rocket launcher. I am the relic holder in my group but until that part I like to rock a hand cannon. Now I need to always equip my raid elemental weapon like eeeeveryone else because I may be going into the portal instead of doing the fight the way I enjoy doing it. Just my opinion. Please vote and let me know what you think. Maybe we'll get someone's attention. EDIT: not just about me wanting to use my hand cannon lol Also it will be tougher for people who have never done VoG to get a group that won't boot them, insult them or just have 0 patience with them after so many deaths or mistakes you know?

  • I remember the precise moment when we figured out the teleport mechanics against Atheon. It was probably the 2nd night of trying to beat him, when we figured out that it was the 3 ppl furthest away that got moved. It was great because we finally felt like we unlocked the puzzle (progressive raiding = exactly this), and then we went on to master the puzzle (2 hunters with gunslinger always going through the timestream). It felt like one of those things that you had to accomplish in order to move on in the raid, and once you figured it out, it was great. That's why I don't understand these changes. What Bungie seems to be ignoring, is the fact that the VoG has been live for like 6 weeks now - people know how to do it because they are familiar with it. Is being familiar a good enough reason to make changes? You don't see FIFA changing the size of their nets because players are "familiar" with scoring goals, or NHL changing their puck size because players are familiar with their game. So why make these changes based on familiarity with VoG? If this is where it's at, why not change the entire raid? Oracle positions, conflux locations, portal locations, Minotaur spawn rates, etc, and completely re-design the VoG's challenge? These changes don't make sense, and completely remove the ability to use team work, coordination, and pre-planning - something that is crucial in raiding. Not a fan. I've not been happy wjth many of the changes they've introduced, but they've largely left VoG alone so I've not really fussed. But now that they are messing with it, even I, a big fan of Destiny, am finding I have less and less motivation to play the game these days
