I have one Vanguard SR and my friend has another. They are the same rifle, but with different upgrades. I want his, he wants mine. Mine is maxed out since I actually use SR and it's the best one I have. His is almost fully upgraded, but not all the way. Because of this, if we traded through your system, I would essentially lose out on 18 Energy and get a different SR with no upgrades, making it useless until I can find replacement Energy because your trade system basically undid all my work with a gun.
So what if people trade something with upgrades on it. I upgraded a bunch of Exotics, then when my Titan reached level 20, he jumped straight from 20 to 25, with 3 pieces of Exotic armor, and 3 different Exotic weapons, and Atheon's Epilogue. This is not much different than if I were to give my friend this stuff the way it is.
Sure, I can see the whole Raid Gear thing where Raid gear =/= normal Purple gear, but how am I supposed to trade my hunter friend for his spare pair of gauntlets if I have yet to get a single piece of raid armor? He has no use for 2 pairs, and I need a pair and have beaten the raid just as much as him, but he can't trade it to me, so I'm still shit out of luck.
This is why I don't like the sound of this trade system you have proposed. I can understand where you are coming from, but still, I just think a trade system should just allow for people to decide what's traded. Maybe, just maybe in terms of raid gear, a person must complete the raid before they can receive such stuff from another person, just to keep people from going from 20 to 30 instantly.

It doesn't matter the system should be made that way (if you trade anything you lose all upgrades) so you can just skip all the way to completion. You can't have more than 1 exotic armor/ weapon equipped to begin with so I don't follow this question at all. I'm guessing you're saying if you traded your friend exotic armor that was maxed out but the system will still reduce all your upgrades to zero this is done that way to reduce any kind of cheating or RWT. I say cheating because if I just got my exotic armor and my friends are still struggling to get the ascendant shards to level up their armor, how would it be fair for me to look online and pay someone or trade someone my un-upgraded exotic armor for one that is maxed out? Blame the RNG god for not being kind to you once. If you can't get a single piece of raid gear from the raid that just means you gotta keep playing to earn RNG gods favor. Raid gear should only be traded with other raid gear because you get more light out of raid gear vs legendary armor so that wouldn't be a equal trade if I were able to trade raid gear for standard legendary gear. I don't think people should be able to trade and decide what-ever because if that were to be the case this game would be riddled with RWT instantly. People would begin to make sites on selling raid gear for real work cash which would defeat the purpose that Bungie gave to this game which is to gain RNG gods favor and grind away.

Can you please explain to me what RWT means? It's a term I am unfamiliar with. As for what I was saying with the Exotics is that I leveled up a Hard Light nearly all the way with my Hunter and when my Titan reached 20, I immediately gave it to him. How is that really any different than if I level up an item and give it to an entirely different person? I never meant I equipped all the armor and weapons I handed my Titan, but some of the stuff had quite a lot of upgrades on them so that he can flip between them when necessary. As for the raid gear and the whole "RNGesus/RNG God" thing, -blam!- that. Not -blam!- you, just that whole thing. As cool as the raid is, it still gets repetitive, especially when your group can essentially just be like "Go here, go here, do this, grab that, shoot him, done", and since I can only earn Hunter armor once a week, it gets really frustrating to see the guy next to me get rewarded with every possible raid exclusive reward, including the helm and Mythoclast, while I get another ship (which I think is ugly) and another Chatterwhite. I'm one empty Raid away from quitting Destiny, at least until the DLC comes out.

RWT = Real world trading. It's a popular thing that occurs when people are able to trade freely. People will pay Real world money for in game items rather than earning it themselves. If you store your item in the vault you can easily access it from another character and use it. I don't have another character but I'm sure your stats on the weapons does not reset since you're using it from the same account. If you mean trading to another person it wouldn't be fair to do so because you could simply receive a fully upgraded weapon while giving a weapon that isn't fully upgraded, others would work to get their upgrades while you take the short cut now that doesn't seem fair at all and that also influences RWT to a extent. RNG god thing is something I've dealt with first hand all though I haven't done a raid yet since I'm focusing on leveling my characters light up so I don't become dead weight. I've played crucible games where I would be the obvious reason the team I was on would win and players far below me even had someone afk the entire time and received items while I received nothing. This one game I had almost 6k points on control with a 3.8 k/d I believe and I received nothing but the player at the bottom received 4 items so I was extremely frustrated especially since this pattern seems to be a on going thing where I do the best and get nothing while other players do really bad and receive something. RNG will have to be re-balanced by bungie to a certain extent since they did a poor job thus far in-regards to RNG.

Ah, that. Never heard the technical term for it. I can see that being an issue, but still. I hate that we live in a time where a system has to punish everyone because of people who would abuse it. I never said your idea was wrong, I just have a lot of personal situations where this just wouldn't benefit me at all and might as well not have trading.

Yeah I understand where you're coming from I also thank you for being mature in this conversation (・ω・)/. This system I thought of is just something that bungie might consider seeing I made it based on the assumption that they didn't implement the trading system because of RWT and possible cheating. I still doubt they would take my idea and make it a reality, I see any trade system that allows me to trade with someone beneficial in general.

Ah, you're welcome then. Sometimes I get a little heated or mistaken in a conversation, as I have some slight anger issues, but I prefer everything to be civil. I preferably avoid conflict, though I sometimes start it myself without meaning to. And to be honest, I probably couldn't put as much thought into a stable trading system. You at least tried to think about all the problems. I'm just trying to point out the problems for the normal people within the problems you pose.
