So I'm a handcannon enthusiast. I had to hang it up because I was getting shredded by auto rifles, fusions, and shotguns in PVP. In hard mode raid, I'm forced into Atheon's Epilogue for the void damage to peel Minotaur shields. I have The Devil You Know, Thorn, and recently acquired an arc damage Fatebringer. I have friends with The Last Word and they swear by it. Is anyone out there having great success in Hard Mode raid and PVP with a hand cannon other than The Last Word, and if so, which?

Hopefully you get it mate.

You have the handcannon designed for the raid.

2 RepliesThe Last Word isn't even good for raiding compared to TDYK, Fatebringer, or Timur's Lash. TLW has horrible range and such a small clip and the perks aren't even that good. You will have tons of assists with it though.

Datto is beasting with hawkmoon. Haven't got one for myself yet

If we could trade, you can have the one I will never use...

If you've got a steady hand, it's an absolute beast close-mid range! I managed to go 35-13 at Twilight Gap during Iron Banner with it. The increased stability and damage when firing from the hip is great for situations where you don't have time to aim down the sights. At only 8 rounds, it's really important to make every shot count and always be the first to fire. PvE wise, it's great for taking out the trash.

5 RepliesLord High Fixer will forever be my legendary weapon of choice.

It's a great gun, but since the hotfix, scout rifles are better in my opinion

I took Thorn into a hard raid. Did just fine.

I use hand cannons and scout rifles I'm happy with vision of confluence for my scout I'm also hoping to get the last word, fatebringers or hawkmoon to compare to thorn I enjoy thorn but the cylinder is small and the reload is really long even with a 3x chain of woe

2 RepliesI enjoy using my fully upgraded fatebringer more than the last word. The last word is for close quarters hip firing; not good for PvE.
-
3 RepliesI love my hawk moon for PvP. If you get at least one lucky shot it's a 2 shot headshot kill. You have to hang back though. I use it more like a pocket sniper than anything else.

2 RepliesEdited by RamenNoodleChef: 10/15/2014 2:38:50 PMI love using my Thorn in PvP and I'm not really good at it but still get the job done.. Even with the long reload I'm still able to outgun most people 1v1. The Mark of the Devourer is a very good perk. Able to 2 shot headshot and 3 to the body. When up close I don't even aim, just hip fire..

I do pretty good with thorn, the chance and the devil you know. You just need to keep your distance in pvp or hit all your shots up close which is hard under pressure.
