No cause currently all you have to do is tap a person once then toss knife and dead. If you really need that one shot kill on your redic low CD knife toss I say go back to cod cause the accuracy of that redic low knife toss is next level BS.

  • According to my friend who is a hunter main all you have to do is aim you cross hair over your intended target. Then use it it has a decent guidance to hit you intended area and no travel time like all fired things.

  • It has very low velocity and it does need to hit their head not near it

  • yes it still needs to hit the head however your miss counting the minor guidance almost all ballistic weapons get. also I have seen the knife in action its "velocity" which does not exist in this game since its practically hit scan for any thing that fly's through the air minus grenades. is hardly low by the time your hand animation has finished its revolution I am being hit by said knife. so while its animation still in the air is counting your damage as already hit its how you get the knife some times "arcing" through the air when watching from a top down position which I have in open areas. believe it or not it has a "homing" affect that is the guidance system at work. Going to make a hunter and see for my self when I have the time but frankly all I need to know is how it interacts with my character. your hand starts to move and I take damage before the hand finishes its throwing arc.

    I have experienced how fast it is even if you see it slamming into a wall in pvp trust me its hitting for damage. I have witnessed from advantageous points of view how often a "missed" knife hits a wall but the death report is killed by knife. its not slow damage wise as it adds the damage even if the blades animation misses makes me laugh when I see the graphics glitch though must look strange for hunters haven the blade slam a wall but kill a player. my thoughts are your request maybe valid but frankly if hunters have the only melee skill that cant crit cause you try to aim a fist at a persons head as a titan or the slap as a warlock its not happening. you would have to make all fists do crits and instant kill for the point of it takes effort to get that close and hit for titans and warlocks not like we can float through bullet hoses and redic abilities to punch/slap a person only to find it does 1.5 of the enemies hit bar. yeah it punches the shield and leave about as much of the health behind as your dam throwing knife so while you have it easy with a long range melee power that is low CD that takes out the entire shield and leaves slivers of hp behind or simply tap once then toss and kill. the other two classes are stuck haven to close that gap and punch/slap you. so pardon me if I seem a bit callous towards a "but my knife is so under powered. please my it instant kill if it finds the head." post. you will be amazed at how often those things hit the head in this game. its like the -blam!-ers be usen aim bots 90% of the -blam!-ing time but I know the knife take about a pinky nails level of skill according to my friend to hit heads at medium range which is the longest range he can effectively use it and he has seen hunters consistently head shot with the throw knife at twice that distance so I am sorry if you feel its under powered in some way but I am not seeing it and my friend could attest that he has not seen it either. Edit: my friend "could" attest but he wont as he sees the forums as the dumping ground of retards. his words not mine I find the forums handy and I SOMETIME find a post worth my time. other times I dont get frustrated and feel like preforming self flagellation by posting in threads like this one where people feel their guardians kit is underpowered when its not. frankly I would say yeah let it instant but heres your draw back no more unlimited range like it is now. cut it back to short range further then titan/warlock fist/slap range. meaning you can only hit for damage when about 1-5 feet away rather then 1-unlimited feet.

  • no that is called damage before the hit. its not uncommon for hit scans to ignore the animations. if it was lag the knife would not continue on like it does and slam terrain. it would simply disappear at a set point normally where the person was "hit." also if lag applies for just the knife and not the character which is VERY strange lag cause normally when I witness lag from any thing at my friends houses not only does the certain things stop in the game but also stops in the avitars and such so yeah. on top of this if you experience any kind of lag in destiny which is your computer missing packets sent by destiny servers and does not reply to them which goes hand in hand you miss packets so your system cant send the packet requests back your dropped from the game. even a .05 second lag drops you to orbit or title screen.
