What if while you were playing Destiny you heard an urgent message coming from the tower? Maybe it would be from your Vanguard Mentor, maybe even from our Beloved Cryptarch. This message might come through your headset like a dying whisper, or a panicked call to arms popping up like you've accepted a patrol mission. This message would be very clear, enemies approaching, defenses failing, we need you now, we need you all now. I'm talking about the ultimate community event, team up now, or understand that all could be lost. Finish your pvp game, speed to the end of your pve mission, jump to orbit, and head home. The Fallen are breaking through, The Vex are massing their attack, The Cabal are making their final stand. The Tower will fall. Unless through their strength together, the Guardians stand to protect what is theirs. Snipers to the balcony, Titans to the front, it's going to be a wild ride. It will take 24 hours to get the Tower's defenses back online, you'll respawn in the special events area where the Tower's staff will be waiting, eager to provide their services if if means saving the last beacon of light from waves of enemies stronger than any one could defeat alone. Let's win this together.

That's actually not a bad idea. I remember when Guild Wars 2 had an event called Lost Shores. Lion's Arch was getting attacked.
-
This idea is exactly what I have always wanted in Destiny. When I was roaming around the Tower in the Beta, I said :"Huh, it would be amazing if enemy forces invaded through a small crack in the defences and all Guardians present had to fight them off." I would think this would be a month long event where enemies would appear at random times, as the attacks go on however, the Tower would show signs of battle (Burnt sections, a enemy corpse here and there) The attack would happen more so on the weekend so everyone has a more likely chance to participate.

Heavy machine gun heavy machine gun. So much damage. An everyone could hear each other yelling into their headsets and stuff
-
Dude this would be awesome. I hope they take this and up it in.
-
One month ago called, It wants it's idea back.
-
You mean like what goes on in Guild Wars 2?
-
1 ReplyThat would be awesome, but I think something like that will eventually be added. There are those "the enemy is moving against each other" moments already, it's not a stretch to think that they will move on the Guardians at some point in a full military campaign. We are proving ourselves quite the little nuisance.

1 ReplyWay to use ideas from months ago...
-
Yes a thousand times like public events but epic.
-
3 RepliesI think that in this situation we would all band together and give the vex the cryptarch so they will go away

Like a day long random event? that sounds super awesome!!
-
And the Vanguard mentors would have awesome cutscenes where they kill hundreds of enemies!! This would be sooo cool! Now just pay $40 dollars for it ;)
-
This would be incredible. Everything switches from third to first person, and 16 of us have to defend the tower >:) this is a gaming DREAM!
-
Bungie: this idea is great, we might eventually patch it on expansion 20 together with the fallen assault public event that we showed on previous but never actually implemented.
-
Oh, if it were the cryptarch, i doubt i'd come running. "Oh...you need some help? let me check and see what I got for you...Oh, would you look at that? RNG tells me to tell you to -blam- off. Douche."
-
I wish people like you made destiny. That would be so f*cking cool
-
6 RepliesAnd if we fail then the game is over. Actually over. The servers get shut down and everything.
-
Like the idea
-
My friends and I have been talking about this. It would be the ultimate community event and epic!

This!

Edited by LookingForSoup: 10/5/2014 9:02:12 PMThe Cabal commanders jump from their perch on their gunships, filing the air with the hail of bullets; their fury alone ripping into the Guardian ranks. The Hive unleash their beasts of war upon the battle weary resistance fighters, paving the way for their ranks of warriors. The Fallen send in their commando teams to sabotage the futile efforts of those who defend the last Spark of hope. Seeing some of the bosses out there would be cool. Y know, send in the advance forces to test the defenses then go in with the backbreaking mass of Darkness minions. A side campaign spawning from this would be cool too. They're all minions of the Darkness right? But they're independent and fight each other. So what if they all seemed to work together, under the influence from the Darkness itself. We could figure out what the Darkness really is. Maybe revive the Traveler after realizing we've awoken a force we can't defeat.

I would really love this event to happen as a weekly event 24 hours of pure mayhem and if you participate you will still get rewards but not as cool rewards as the ones who played 12 hours or more of the event.
