If they allowed comments, there would be an explosion of trolls and whiners blowing it up. Totally justified. The fact they're addressing issues shows they are there.

Think about what youre justifying- taking away people's freedom of speech. If they can't comment, you can't either, even if Bungie decides to dip into your bank account right now and start taking your money for no reason.

Freedom of speech applies to Public forms of communication. This Forum is a privately owned form of communication, thus they have the legal rights to prevent people from saying anything. Also considering all the racist remarks, homophobic slander and other vulgarity I see, I doubt you could get away shouting that down the side walk even if you cite free speech.

Legal or not, its the precedent that's important. Websites in general don't have to allow comments at all but the internet is just made up of people so that would either get really boring really fast or it would be outrageous in regards to all the censorship. By disabling comments, Bungie is saying they dont want or care about direct feedback on the changes, leading me to believe the forums are a waste of time as they dont browse them. Yeah, you probably wouldn't, but then again there will always be hate-baiters who will flood a thread with vulgarity. You don't need a conflicted game to act as an outlet for that.

Again they have systems to deal with the trolls and whiners and filter their clutter out to get to the feedback (hence the like system). Many people ignore trolls entirely so I don't find it justified considering they have done it with every other post bar this one. So while they do address some issues they miss the two massive ones in my post and have taken away the players ability to directly question them about it (they have created a situation where it is easy to avoid these issues).

I can understand wanting to ask questions regarding how it was they've come to the conclusions they have, and why they've picked the changes they have, most of the notes I've read from bungie are pretty darn well explained. They're even kinda humorous. Maybe they just figure they know what they're doing and don't want to be questioned, who knows. I think they're very in touch with the community though, especially with the changes they've made.

Fair enough. I do agree with "some" the notes being well explained. However they are quite vague about some of the important changes to the game in regards to loot although the fact it is there is quite good to see except for when and how they have announced the changes. Also that is a terrible attitude to have when gathering and using feedback (they don't want to be questioned? They know what they are doing?), even if they think they know what they are doing the reviews for this game have been mediocre to above average. There has been almost universal condemnation for features and parts of the game being missing or underdeveloped. Also while they have made this one post I would hardly call it being in touch considering they missed vital feedback in their announcement and considering they only made one when players were forced to exploit the game out of desperation.

They definitely should address those damn reviews and the lack of content

They really should and it worries me that they are not. If they wont even listen to the industry critics and reviewers, why would they listen to the community?
