Post Your Connection Issues/fixes Here - Home Networks

I have seen many of these threads, but it seems that most of the posts are just people ranting and complaining. I will say that I am quite guilty of that as well, and my patience is growing thin, but I think we should try to provide Bungie with more specific information so they can get our issues fixed as soon as possible. Please post your specific issues in here, and try to keep it short-ish, to the point, and present it in a professional manner so they don't have to comb through garbage to find what they could possibly need. I'll start by saying: I'm on the Xbox 360. I am on my home network. I get mostly just BEE and CENTIPEDE after entering any game zone. I can sit in orbit and stare at my ship for hours, but even entering a mission, strike, crucible match, or the tower nets me a BEE error within 2-10 minutes. I'VE HAD THESE ISSUES SINCE DAY 1. I've tried all the workarounds mentioned on this site (NAT Type, opening ports, QoS, disabling flood protection, DMZ server, static IP for router and console, hard resetting everything multiple times, deleting system cache, deleting and reinstalling the game, using a VPN, going wireless and wired, and multiple combinations of all of these) Any help/reply would be appreciated. We must keep hammering them until we are heard. We are not a tiny portion of the community.

  • I m on xboxone, home network. Get only BEE error in crucible 6v6. I ve this issue since day 1. i've tried all, NAT open with port forwardind, with dmz, with upnp, static ip.wired directly on modem with other games on console with nat open and i have no problems, i play with counter strike on pc with no problem. i am italian and i have friends with the same isp and the same modem/router and they have no problems. so i dont get what the problem is

  • Xbox one connectivity issues with error codes: chicken and bee. Tried all the xbox live suggestions and bungie suggestions. It's not a problem with my router or modem. Nobody should have to work this hard to play a video game.

  • Xbox One. Played for six hours on day 1 then since then i haven't been able to log in at all for even a moment due to a "cattle" error. Im on the preview program and am an ambassador and despite my troubleshooting experience i cannot fix it, the issue must be server side. More info: All suggested Bungie/MS ports open no events appear in my Netgear router's admin logs (except for Port Rule exceptions occasionally) uninstall/reinstall didnt fix it(persistant storage was cleared), good ole off and on didn't work using ethernet connection (1 meter) complete factory reset on console + reinstall had no effect disc version of the game cannot uninstall preview update to test if that is the problem Router firewall not blocking connection All i can deduce is that some sort of change occurred server side some time on the day after release and as such i haven't been able to log in since. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Nothing but centipede with the occasional anteater error. I;d get sent all the way back to the title screen, and as i try to sign back in after choosing my character, "centipede" and right back to main menu. When i am able to actually play the game, i'll get about 20-30min of game play, before "centipede" yet again. I tried turning my console off and back on, dash boarding and starting the game back up. Nothing seems to work. Seeing how i need to beat strikes for bounties, but i get kicked mid mission.

  • XBOX 360, Comcast, static IP to wireless router. I have opend all recommended ports. I have zero problems with other games via XBOX Live. I get a combination of issues from lost of connection to partner services (whatever the F that means) to my xbxo live just disconnecting. Again, the only game that does this. Weird.

    • Xbox 360. I go to Alma College I've mostly been getting the caterpillar error, though I've seen beaver a few times. I have no way to adjust my network connection since I'm not allowing to have a router in my room (other than what's provided by the college).

        Baboon, Centipede, Chicken, Bee, Beaver, quail and some berry one. I go to college and I still get all of these after the update. I currently go to Vermillion Community College in Ely, MN. I would like to play! But it keeps kicking me in the middle of strikes and crucible. Also every time I pick something up such as engrams or quest items, it keeps saying contacting Destiny servers. Same goes for dismantling things and turning quests in. Also if I go to explore mode it contacts servers non stop. Please help if possible. Thanks.

          Everytime I do a public event or raid I get disconnected seems to happen whener the game tries to load the enemies. I get the bee error, and its always near the end.

          what's going on for me is that I play for 2-5 min and then I get disconnected and it happens every single time. The message tells me to check my internet connection and I get the error code lion every time, but once I got the error code fly. This has been happening since launch day on the second mission, and I also follow the steps to open up the ports as well. While this is going on every single other game, Netflix in 1080p, MacBook Pro, 1 week old iMac, Samsung Smart TV and Samsung Galaxy S5 are all working 100% fine, and Sony phone support even told me that my internet connection is 100% fine and that it's on Bungie's end and the only option I have Sony said is to wait until they fix the servers or bring out an update to fix it.

        • I have a Netgear router that I purchased new about a year ago and have opened all of the ports that both Bungie and Xbox have suggested, yet I still constantly get: centipede, bee, fly, and occasionally vulture and beaver. Sometimes I get then in combination. And at times the disconnect is so bad that it kicks me off of Live. I would be more understanding if this game weren't exclusively online, but when 100% of the content requires a connection, this is unforgivable and should have already been answered instead of hiding from it publicly like they have. The saddest part is that I have truly enjoyed the game when I have been able to play without problems, but those periods are becoming rare.

          • I've been receiving the Bee error on crucible almost every game. I say almost because there have been some games I get to actually finish. Which in my opinion shows that the issue is not on my end. For if it was surely I would get disconnected every game or not be able to play at all. I can play raids with almost no issue and can do missions the same. I'm glad 343 got halo after this crap. So close to selling the game back. Disappointed

          • This morning I have been disconnected from almost every strike mission I have attempted. The last three missions I have been disconnected from the game when entering the final boss stage. Additionally I was disconnected while in Patrol on the Moon. Prior to this, I did not have any problems with connectivity, so I know it is not a problem on my end.

          • Honestly ever since the second update came out I have been having bullshit connection problems since I only had disconnected a few times because the server got flooded with people on the first week is the only legit time I got disconnected. so are they going to release a new update to fix that problem soon because I am not the only one having this problem.

          • hey guys i have posted in a couple of forums now i will try explain my problem. i was playing a strike online the other day when i finally hit the 777 grimoire score or above achievement, i hit the guide button to read what the achievement was for (like you do) but then my game crashed on the loading screen so i had to turn my console off, but now when i start up the game and either try make a new character or load a save my game just gets stuck on the loading screen and the music is all laggy, i have tried deleting and re installing the game and updates as well no joy there, something else i noticed today is that i don't even have the achievement it crashed giving me! please let me know any possible fix's or suggestions because i am feeling rather robbed at the moment as i payed £50 for the game not even a week ago and now i cant even play the game at all. please help please.

            Been having centipede, hawk and caterpillar errors since day one. Sometimes I can play up to 30 mins without a disconnect, other times its 5 minutes or less. Sometimes, like right now, I cant even get past the Destiny home screen without an error. Playing on an Xbox 360 home network. Completely stable network, never have this issue with any other game. Im getting VERY frustrated because every error help page on Bungie just asks me to retry my action again. That is NOT helpful in any way. I have tried forwarding ports, changing my IP settings blah blah blah. Nothing has helped. Please, just give us some answers Bungie. Edit: within the last 5 minutes ive received elk and hare, 2 errors i have yet to experience. Do these names even mean anything anymore, or are they all just generic error codes?

          • Don't know if this works for some of you, but I changed a couple of Settings and it seems to work or at least the disconnects aren't happening that much anymore. There were a lot of bee or centipede disconnects and when testing my multiplayer connection on XboxOne it always said that there is an MTU Problem, but my MTU settings were fine.... Disabling Unicast and enabling Multicast finally made the change for me, but don't know whether the other settings are important too. So furthermore I enabled UPnP without forwarding any ports and of course updated the firmware. Didn't disable firewall, but did disable wifi protected setup

          • Unable to play for more than half hour then start getting disconnected with err like pineapple caterpillar centipede ferret and others will not stop till next day, very angry

          • I get fly and bee. It's only on 6v6 game types...and sometimes the tower... And I contacted my ISP. Not my end. Definitely theirs. I just want them to stop -blam!-ing around. A damn college student with a computer major can fix their issues in a few days with a good team. It's taken them since even after beta...Smh idk wtf they're doing at bungie. Probably playing Destiny. and not actually working

              I can't even sign in. Keep getting cattle now mostly. Before the last update I could get in without problems. I had 4 days of play and about 3-4 disconnects in 12 hours of play each day. After the update everything has slowly gotten worse. After the update I had immediate disconnections with fly, bee, lion, caterpillar, centipede, flatworm, elk, coconut, baboon, and today chicken that I can remember right now. I rarely could play more than 30 seconds without an immediate disconnection, at times signing me completely out of the game. Yesterday I got a couple games in, but now I am completely not able to sign in at all and keep getting cattle. Really I am at the end of my patients with these issues, and I am tired of hearing about it is my internet, when so many people are having the same problems, and ignorant that I was able to play, mostly, prior to the update with a level 20 Warlock as proof. I have both 360 and PS3 and have played online GTA, BF3 and BF4, MOH Warfighter, CODMW3, CODBO2, Ghosts, Halo 3, 4, and Reach and none of these games have I ever had a problem with signing in or disconnections. Destiny is the only game that I have these problems with. The game is unplayable now for me, and I feel cheated, and robbed. The production of an online only game server connection and stability should have been the number 1 focus and conern, and reasonable expectations have been violated in this fraud of a broken game.

              • Hey guys, some good people in my forum topic "bungie please give us info" gave a bit of insight into the bee error. I updated my original post with a fix that seemed to work for me. Check it out :) *it was too long to type out again and I'm on mobile.

                  Mostly Bee, had Lion, Vulture, Hare, Centipede and yesterday Elderberry. Longest I played was I was able to complete Earth Strike in one go, but then was kicked back to orbit about 5 mins after. I played both Alpha and Beta with NO ISSUES whatsoever, and can play any other online game with no issues across PC and Consoles. Xbox One, Open Nat, Forwarded Ports, tried DMZ, tried routing through PC and using VPN, tried various combinations of Wired and Wireless across FIVE different routers, tried various combinations of those putting one in bridge and used another as access point, tried different faceplate on my phone wall socket, reinstalled game. Can't think of anything else other than actually changing ISP but not I'm going through all that bother for one game, no matter how much I want to play it.
