Everyone I know and have spoken to can agree on one thing about Destiny: the game is amazing, and the PvP is fun, but the vehicles on the moon map are incredibly overpowered and take away a lot of the fun.
The Venus map is amazing close quarters combat, and the Moon map has areas like that too, but it is too easily dominated by someone sitting in a vehicle. You can't hijack the vehicles or stick them with grenades, so your only hope is flanking them and shooting the player in the back. A talented player will make this nearly impossible.
May I suggest lessening the amount of vehicles on the map or nerfing their health or damage? People are already abusing them in a bad way, every single time I end up playing on that map.
It's also pretty rough that players can cap flags while sitting in vehicles, making things pretty uneven, considering you can drive Pikes into A and C flags to completely dominate. At the very least, taking away the ability to cap flags from within a vehicle would be a step in the right direction.
I really hope you guys are able to even the playing field a bit because everything else about the game is amazing and the vehicles are my one main gripe right now. Myself and many others.

Edited by REXEL: 7/22/2014 4:29:08 AMI usually just snipe out the driver tbh. They aren't bad if you avoid situations where you are taking the vehicle head on while on foot. I thought the same thing when i played the alpha, but i learned not to put myself in the position where someone in a vehicle can easily kill me. I will say however you shouldn't be able to capture a territory while in one, to me that is utter b.s.

Make heavy ammo available more frequently and/or give us the ability to mount and throw off the drivers (like in Halo). That was always so much fun. Presented a risk/reward situation that made things more exciting. You were powerful in vehicles, but had to be careful....it was balanced.

3 RepliesI must be the only person that disagrees. I think the vehicles are fine. They are open so the driver can be shot or sniped. Supers will destroy them as well. And obviously, there is heavy weapons. Oh, and turrets..

2 RepliesVery overpowered can't tell how many times I've lost and won games because of the vehicles.

1 ReplyI cannot agree more, i enjoy the gun play a lot on the venus map, it's surprisingly tense and you feel when you're underleveled and should go back and finish some story missions. But those vehicles ruin it. The Heavy Weapons strategy doesnt work since the interceptors spawn at the start, but the heavy weapon ammo takes more than a minute The Pike is too strong, but not overpowered. The Interceptors are incredibly broken the way they are. They need to take more small arms damage, and the projectile needs to be slowed down massively to work more like a mortar than a tank shell.

People quite literally make it impossible for a comeback when they have vehicle control. It's not simply the inherent power of vehicles which by all means should be there, it should not be as oppressive to try to make a strategy or a comeback with the team. If the enemy team has control of the vehicles on the map, they can drive the vehicles into certain 'control' points and leave them there to ensure capture. Due to their speed, they can very easily pick the enemy players off that are running into the map from the outer perimeter; this offers a far too rewarding campaign for respawn 'camping' tactics because vehicles can effectively traverse the perimeter to eliminate recently spawned players. I agree that they are powerful, and controlling their use on the map should be rewarded, but this is quite a bit excessive.

Vehicles are fine now. However in my opinion they would be completely fixed if there was a jack option.

I have to agree, way to OP especially the pike, when it looks like a sparrow it should die like a sparrow. But what I hate to see is people conparing this game so much to Halo. Its completely different but has similar traits, this is to be expected when 2 blockbuster games are made by the same developer, its called taking inspiration. Anyways thats my rant, I definitely think there needs to be a way to hijack the vehicle or a specific soft spot.

Maybe more frequent heavy ammo would fix the problem.

1 ReplyNot going to disagree. However I just run across the buildings. If your boots never hit dirt, vehicles can't do much. I jump from building to building. Personally I would rather see snipers get a nerf.
-
They are not that over powered a turret beats them fairly easy. Now if your entire team is bad and your opponents are better then they will seem like there op. Since they will take advantage of it more. Also just use your supper on them and don't waist it on 1 guy. Though I am very guilty of doing just that. On the super note does the hunter one shot the tank like warlock and Titan do ? Or they have to aim for the guy?

2 RepliesThe vehicles are literally just like the ghost/chopper and wraith from Halo. And if you don't like vehicles, get heavy ammo for a rocket launcher. Problem solved.

They must be overpowered, because I'm pretty terrible at PvP and I can still 20-0 sitting in an Interceptor all day.
