On a serious note: If Nintendo wants to attract hardcore gamers then they need to offer the software and the experience they are currently getting on XB1 and PS4 while tempting them with Nintendo's IPs that appeal to them. As it stands? >Underpowered console can't run XB1/PS4 games. >Treating third party developers like shit. Welp. There goes the software. >Playing catch up with the online and extra features. Welp. There goes pretty much any chance of getting hardcore gamers. >No Metroid or Starfox in the pipes. >New Zelda looks like this instead of this. Nintendo is -blam!-ing -blam!-ed.

 • Nice try, Methew. Well that's what I'd like to say. But it's clear you have no idea what you're talking about.

Lol okay then.
>Underpowered console can't run XB1/PS4 games.
Go get a PC you wanna cry about graphics so much. Also see Bayonetta 2. 720P and 60 FPS. Dead Rising 3 = 720p and struggles to reach 25FPS.
>Treating third party developers like shit.
Tell that to all the indie developers who have put their games on the Eshop. They don't treat third party developers like crap you moron, they just don't put their games on the Wii U because it isn't selling like hot cake. You really think that EA and Activision care if the Wii U isn't powerful enough and thats why they don't put their games on the console? The console is more powerful that the PS3 and 360 and yet they still put their games on those systems.
Welp. There goes the software.
Not really, Wii U has quite a lot of games.
>Playing catch up with the online and extra features.
Agreed, Nintendo has been slow on the ball when it comes to online features. Just recently they criticised Twitch because they don't think that people want to sit their and watch others play a game. When thats exactly what a lot of people want to do.
Welp. There goes pretty much any chance of getting hardcore gamers.
See above comment.
>No Metroid or Starfox in the pipes.
Did you not watch E3? There is a new Star Fox game. But yeah no new Metroid, which I really, really want.
>New Zelda looks like this instead of this.
People said the same thing about Wind Waker, and now its considered to be one of the top three Zelda game for many people. Whereas Twilight Princess, which went for a more realistic tone, has aged incredibly poorly in the looks department and not that many people rate it.
Nintendo is -blam!-ing -blam!-ed.
Nope. Will they sell the least amount of consoles this gen? Without a doubt. Will the Wii U be a disappointment in the company's books? Yep, pretty much. But Nintendo -blam!-ed? Lol, no way dude.

On a serious note: If Nintendo wants to attract hardcore gamers then they need to offer the software and the experience they are currently getting on XB1 and PS4 while tempting them with Nintendo's IPs that appeal to them.
So basically the whole dude bro shooter thing? Lol okay then.
Yeah. The dudebroshooters and all the other video games that are being made or will be made.
Go get a PC you wanna cry about graphics so much. Also see Bayonetta 2. 720P and 60 FPS. Dead Rising 3 = 720p and struggles to reach 25FPS.
God you are dense. It's not about graphics. It's about the consoles ability to keep pace with its competitors so that it can offer the same content as the other consoles and entice people to buy it specifically for the exclusives. It's about how the hardware can only play Nintendo exclusive IPs and 360/PS3 ports. And the latter don't exist anymore. Nintendo wanted to get out of the graphics race? That's fine. I think trying to jockey for position over technical specs and how X game has 1080p and 60 FPS while on system Y but only 900p on system Z is asinine. But Nintendo dropped out of the race entirely and they are being left behind because they made a glorified Nintendo Box and not a video game console.
Tell that to all the indie developers who have put their games on the Eshop. They don't treat third party developers like crap you moron,
-Wii U devkits incredibly hard to code for. -Workaround didn't come from Nintendo but another third party company dealing with the problem -Workaround was still slow and time consuming to do -New devkits with no notes as to what was changed -Minimal documentation -Week long return time on messages to Nintendo -Messages hampered by broken English that didn't answer the question
they just don't put their games on the Wii U because it isn't selling like hot cake.
Because Nintendo released a gimped system that was a herald to the new generation of systems yet only caught up to the previous generation of system right when those systems were on their way out and could never even come close to the new systems. They were hoping that they could capture lightning a second time like with the Wii but ignoring the fact that they saturated the market that bought the Wii in the first place.
You really think that EA and Activision care if the Wii U isn't powerful enough and thats why they don't put their games on the console?
Yes. They care that the Wii U isn't powerful enough because that means that they can't efficiently port their games over to the system. They would have to spend money chopping and chopping away at the games to get it to fit. And that's for the XB1 and PS4 games. You'll notice of course, that they aren't doing that. Technically the system is just as good as the 360 and PS3, if not better, but that's on paper.
Code optimised for the PowerPC processors found in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 wasn't always a good fit for the Wii U CPU, so while the chip has some interesting features that let the CPU punch above its weight, we couldn't fully take advantage of them.
Power on paper means crap if it can't actually be utilized.
The console is more powerful that the PS3 and 360 and yet they put their games on those systems.
Fixed. Past tense. They put titles that they had already released or were planning on releasing soon on the Wii U because they agreed with Nintendo to develop software for the Wii U so that the console would sell and that EA/Activision could make money off software sales. Once it started selling like crap they stopped supporting it. I'm -blam!-ing surprised that Ubisoft is still developing Watch Dogs for the Wii U. People bitch that they downgraded the graphics already. The Wii U version is going to look like shit.
Not really, Wii U has quite a lot of games.
And the DS has a lot of games too. Yet I only own about a dozen. The total number of games is a meaningless statistic when compared to the number of games that people want to play. I don't own a Wii U. Why? Because I can't justify $300 for two games. Five now if we are going to include pending titles. I only justified buying a Wii months after the Wii U launch because Gamestop was trying to get rid of them and it was cheap. I own dozens of 360 and PS3 titles. I barely broke a dozen Wii titles. And ports from older games on the eShop hardly qualify in my opinion.
Agreed, Nintendo has been slow on the ball when it comes to online features. Just recently they criticised Twitch because they don't think that people want to sit their and watch others play a game. When thats exactly what a lot of people want to do.
Not to mention copyright infringing every -blam!-ing Youtube video of their games.
Did you not watch E3?
No. I had to work. Been meaning to play catch up but kinda gave up once I read all the pertinent news. And since nobody said a -blam!-ing lick about Nintendo news other than the new Smash, I didn't bother.
People said the same thing about Wind Waker, and now its considered to be one of the top three Zelda game for many people. Whereas Twilight Princess, which went for a more realistic tone, has aged incredibly poorly in the looks department and not that many people rate it.
And yet I own TP and not WW.
Nope. Will they sell the least amount of consoles this gen? Without a doubt. Will the Wii U be a disappointment in the company's books? Yep, pretty much. But Nintendo -blam!-ed? Lol, no way dude.
-blam!-ed in Wii U sales. I'm well aware of their massive amount of fat that they are currently living off of but they need to pull their head out of their ass and make a system that can sell so they can sell software. Being a glorified Nintendo Box with gimmicky controller input isn't going to cut it. Not anymore. And so far, they haven't learned this lesson because their head is still up their ass.

 •
>No Metroid or Starfox in the pipes.
...They announced a new Starfox at E3.
>New Zelda looks like this instead of this
i don't see the problem with having a nice looking art style for their games. It's much better than the generic looking shit that we get these days. Not all games have to be "muh grey and brown dark gritty gaems" you know.
