I get the point about the equipment. In the end you won't use it. It doesn't show what you have accomplished. What about the strike mission and multiplayer map.

Nothing has changed for you just because someone else has it first. Bungie had it first, way before any of us, would that bother you as well? Some people get DLC early through modding, even full games (such as Halo: Reach) are leaked months before they are released to the public, did it hurt your gaming experience at all that you couldn't play it at the same time those people did?

That we will have to wait for. But the whole "missing what you never had" principle still applies to it.
