Bungie spent a great amount of time, work and money on cutscenes. So what do you think?
I personally loathe people who skip cutscenes on a first playthrough.

1 ReplyEdited by Galahad: 4/24/2014 11:17:46 PMOnly skippable if you've seen them; also make them skippable by pressing a button during "x" seconds to avoid any chance of unwanted skipping.

Edited by Toxic waffle: 4/24/2014 11:05:29 PMYou should be able to, i never skip them in the first playthrough, but i don't want to be forced to watch them for every other time i want to play through it.
-
Only if you've seen it before.
-
I really want them to be skippable but the cutscenes are going to be AWESOME!
-
1 ReplyEdited by OutHouse: 4/24/2014 2:26:27 PMIf ive seen it 2-3 times. And i run a strike 50 times in 10 day span. Why the eff would i want to see the cinematic 47 more times? Just wasting my time. Edit the first time thru ya lets 110% watch it. Your an idiot if u skip your first time watching. But after a few times. I wanna roll yakno?
-
If you beat the game and all the classes have the same story line , yeah
-
Only after the first playthrough.
-
Yes, I can understand they should be mandatory first time through.... But it should be able to recognize for your second and etc
-
They SHOULD be skip able, I would NEVER skip them. Some games I don't care about the lore an I want to skip. DESTINY, NO SKIPPING
-
Same as in Halo: Reach. Make it some weird button so we don't accidentally skip a cutscene.
-
After you have watched them once.
-
Of course. Why would anyone say no? If someone wants to watch the cinematic, great. You can do that. If someone wants to botch their story experience by skipping them, great. You can do that too.
-
1 ReplyThe first time no, after you've played the game yes.
-
If you want to redo your adventure, they should be able to be skipped.
-
2 RepliesI'm assuming there're no basic loading screens in Destiny, but will use some cutscenes to mask loading. So you may not be able to skip right away. We also don't know about subsequent playthroughs. But I still believe skipping all cutscenes will be up to the player, considering we can have multiple characters. But how they handle it in solo and co-op will differ. In co-op all player's should have to press the skip button. Bungie, just don't make it so easy for accidental skipping such as Halo. But I think the bigger question is "should cutscenes be pausable?"

2 RepliesEdited by Peanut butter60: 4/24/2014 11:54:51 AMI think it's their choice. I don't skip the cutscenes, but some others might prefer it. Not everyone cares about the storyline, some just want to get straight to the shooting. Edit: If there are group cutscenes, no. The one thing I hate about mmos like SWTOR is the group members constantly saying "Skip, skip, skip the -blam!-ing cinematic already, we want to finish quick" Honestly, they put alot of reources into these cinematics. It's meant to be compelling and interesting, everyone should be free to watch it.
-
People who vote no are idiots. If people want to skip it let them skip it. Bioware and Bethsda work extremely hard with their dialogue and they let the player have a choice to listen or skip cutscenes.
-
Dpeneds if whether or not you have seen the same exact cutscene so many times but who would want to skip the glorious cutscenes of this epic game for the first time the only cutscenes that wont be skippable and that will repeat itself alot is probly you in your space ship traveling to another planet as that could be in replace for a lame and boring loading screen but who knows how it will be maybe you could sit in ur ship and watch yourself travel
-
Only if you have already beat the game
-
I dread the JRPG with un-skippable 7 minute cutscenes. Ever since encountering those, I prefer the two-button method. I always watch first time through, but I want to skip if there is a checkpoint right before.
-
I am like many others this guy, who plays the campain more than once. Unskipable cutscenes would be annoying. A solution is already in other games, the first time playing without skipping, but every time after
-
First time, no after that yes.
-
Yes. Disable it for a mission's first playthrough, of course; after that, it'll be up to the player, whether they're replaying the story or going for Achievments/Trophies.
-
1 ReplyPersonally I first play throughs I don't, after the fact yes
-
Yes and no, I prefer cutscenes but I play often with younger siblings in the room, so the option to skip but view them later would be helpful for some of us haha
