Yes. The Flood has already gone over this. I'm still sort of amazed at the people that deny this result despite the proof and it's use in physics. Here's the alternate proof.

  • My math teacher, one of, if not the smartest man I've ever met, taught us how certain things in the theoretical world that do not exist can prove useful in the real world. The square root of negative one, or [i]i[/i], was his example. [i]i[/i] is an imaginary number that does not actually exist, and yet we find a use for it in engineering. You can never square a number and get a negative result, and yet the square root of negative one has a use. You cannot find an absolute sum for an equation that never end, and yet we find a use for the sum of all real, positive integers.

  • Well yeah in a realistic setting you couldn't really sum up all natural numbers like that. It's still a valid result and there are more ways than was shown to reach it.
