honestly... I just want bungie to do something ismiliar to the elites, because 343 industriest completely ruined the elites and the various convenant cultures and refuse to allow the natural evolution of hte races post-true-covenant at the rate that they should be evolving.
By all rights there should be several dozen cultures taht sprung up from the remains of the covenant, different species and colonies forming new alliances... Imagine how cool a faction of Brutes, Skirmishers, and Insurrectionist humans would have been. Or fighting kig-yar ships with drone slaves... unsociable ones purchased from their homeworlds...
I want Bungie to take a lesson from 343 industries, and to be brave and over time do things new and incredible with its creations, to be bold and take big steps and playable fallen would be a pretty rad way to do it. Imagine a single fallen house allowed oocupancy within the city, eager to prove their worth to humanity and reclaim their lost nobility and self respect.

I know this is a really old post, but I still love it. So that being said: I have desperately been hoping for this since to be possible ever since I saw the concept art for the fallen. I think they would be the easiest faction to bring into the storyline as being possibly good, or as you said, having one specific house that would be allowed into the city. Plus, it would make sense. There are two stories coming to mind here; one being from the grimoire "Ghost Fragment: Fallen," when Cayde-6 recalls an Exile fallen fighting beside him, and even though they weren't exactly "allies" they both fought off hive until Cayde ended up killing her at the end, so there is potential. Also, another being the fact that the Fallen had the Traveler before us (guardians), so they already techinically could already have some light powers inside of them. There is always a way to make this completely explainable. And if they really can't think of anything else, they could always use Skolas messing around with time gates as a way some nice fallen slipped into our timeline.

In a way the creation of Exo and Awoken as playable races will allow Bungie to do what they couldn't with Elites in the previous Halo games. How do you feel about them?

the exos and awoken to me represent two human descended "species" the Exos are truly alien in a sense, but to me the awoken are basically a new race of humanity, not much different than african, caucasian, arabic, or asiatic humans... a race that reflects the way the world has changed. Indeed though the fact multiple species work and live together would make human beings more open minded to allowing other species into their society... at least in theory, its possible that in wanting to reclaim their solar system they wont want to share.
