I understand I sound like a complete newbie here, but after 2 years of not checking the forums, I feel left behind. There are so many different conversations happening and I just don't know where to start looking. If there's a good simple group or community that I could join, that would be great; or even a really simple thread.
-Sorry for all of the questions

4 RepliesQuestions are good. Posting is good. Replying to topics that interest you is good. Understanding the tagging system and how you can use it to filter, broaden or refine what you are looking for or interested in? That's REALLY good.

1 ReplyI've been kinda trying to pace my comments since I've been on here for 4 years, yet said absolutely nothing on or checking into the forums until recently, mostly to avoid looking annoying by having my name pop up everywhere. Is this a valid concern or am I just being paranoid?

2 RepliesRecently joined myself. All I can say is just jump right in. The water's great!

look for something of interest or relevancy and jump in!

1 ReplyI would recommend finding a nice private group to get involved with a community but considering I didn't and don't do that myself, it seems disingenuous. In reality, limit your browsing to #destiny and #community (and #bungie on Fridays) for a while. I've found it's much easier to get integrated into the Septagon and the Destiny forum than it is The Flood. They're less harsh and the conversation is more conversational and less argumentative than the latter. As long as you check in regularly to those two tags, you'll start to be able to learn more about how the community functions and what sort of threads are and aren't worth reading. Once you're there, sifting through the sea of threads is much easier and you can ease your way into #Offtopic (something I didn't do until about six months of regular posting). After all that, you should be a regular old BNetter. And, if you're lucky, you may pick up on a few inside jokes along the way.

Oddly, you'll find the forums familiar to you, almost as if they were from an old dream... -MAZ

You'll have to get slapped with the wet noodle again... I'm sorry.

Asking questions is one way to get around the forums. Stick with the #Community or #Bungie forums to get information from Bungie or to hang out with the community. You could also go into private groups, but depending on which one you go to, you'll either feel welcome, or not. Some private groups are already moving on with separate websites. If you just want to have fun and waste time, visit the #Offtopic forum. No one really takes anything there seriously. And if they do, you shouldn't associate yourselves with them.

Just stick around in #OffTopic. You'll get up to speed pretty quickly.

A quick way to get integrated to the forums is to go fuck yourself.

If you're looking for actual discussion, you may be disappointed.
