Destiny accounts should be held in bungie.net, not Xbox/microsoft profiles or PSN. That way, we could sign in to our bungie account on our PCs (please I pray release Destiny for PC) and later carry our character over to the next-gen xbox or PS4 (by somehow signing in to a bungie account on a console, IDK) The game would be activated on our bungie account (connected to our email and therefore our Microsoft accounts) and for cross-platform gamers they could release codes that verify your email address to download destiny on any account, whether it be PSN, microsoft, or just PC/email. That way, for those of us cross-platformers, we would be able to carry our character to a friend's place , where they only say have an xbox, but you play on PC. It wouldn't matter though, cause all we would have to do upon launching the game is sign into our bungie profile. Also, we wouldn't have to pay multiple times to play the game on different systems. Along with this, however, would come "cross-platform" play.

  • No matter what you won't be paying multiple times anyway. As the only price you have to pay is the one that buys the game. There are no recurring fees.

  • IDK... If I go and buy the physical copy of Destiny for Xbox, but then some of my other friends play on PS3 or PS4, then I want my character to carry over between platforms, and for that I might have to buy a physical copy of Destiny for Playstation, if character data is not saved in our Bungie.net accounts that are somehow linked with PSN or XBL accounts...

  • But if you buy an Xbox version, and then want to play on the PlayStation (not using a friends copy) you will have to buy a second game whether your characters transfer between version or not. It would be inconvenient to have to start over a character on a different version, but not necessarily and more expensive. I do think our characters will be stored in the cloud, part of the reason for always needing online. This would allow for easy transfer upgrading from PS3 to PS4 or Xbox 360 to the next, but the transfer of characters between competing will depend on cooperation of Sony and Microsoft.

  • I don't see how it (transferring characters between consoles and having cross-platform supports without having to buy the game again for the other console) could hurt. Microsoft still gets to charge for Xbox Live, and Sony still gets a broader consumer market because their internet access is free. And Bungie still gets a load of money, even if we only have to buy the game once and it works for all platforms. I sincerely hope this works out in some way.
