as usual, excellent theories, Grav. I might have an interesting theory on the Exo's though. What if the Exo's were already Guardians but were terribly injured in battle and the only way that they could survive was being encased in an Exo? I think that is highly plausible.

Stemming from the GDC presentation when they said the Exo were partially inspired by undead, I think your theory is very possible. My personal theory was closer to Graviton's alternate first theory, that the Exo are Guardians who choose to transcend their biological bodies for a more perfect and durable vessel. Something I thought when reading yours and Graviton's posts is that it would be cool if the guardians treated becoming an Exo like we would treat being an organ donor. Like when you get your "Guardian License" you check a box saying that you are ok with your brain being implanted in a cyborg, or you decline for moral or religious reasons.
-
I can see that happening. Becoming a Guardian, you devote yourself to defending humanity to the last breath you have. When your body is failing, then you become an Exo because that is all that is the only option left if you want to continue fighting.
-
It's a plausible idea, but it seems pretty overused for lack of a better word. I have a theory that Exos are robots that contain the souls of humans that are bound to the traveller.
-
how would they be created then?
-
They are guardians that have taken an oath to protect the Traveller. Upon death, the power of their souls are harnessed and placed into Exoskeletons by the Traveller.
-
that still doesnt explain much. What happens when an Exo dies? how are the exo skeletons made? (I am am just testing your theory lolz. not trying to be a jerk even though it seems that way.)
-
A stockpile of Exos could've been created during the Golden age so that the souls had a supply of exoskeletons to use.
-
I can buy that.

To quote myself...
I've seen many theories stating that the Exo's are more-or-less mobile life-support systems, and this is a totally plausible theory. However, these are the theories that first came to mind when I learned of the Exo, and I've been elaborating on them ever since.
hahaha, dont you love it when you can do that.
