Thematically she was holding on to something she had limited memory of, and in the end learned where she came from. She was essentially living somebody else’s life. She no longer wanted to make weapons of destruction and now weaves clothing. She is under utilized, but I don’t think it means the character is weaker for the role they want for themselves. I believe Ada-1 is every bit as capable of standing up to anyone if she feels threatened.

  • As you said, she’s a fictional character. She’s only ever had what Bungie gave her. She’s happy, fine. She’s happily making clothing, also fine. Maybe one day she’s not fine and an adventure ensues. Maybe if the tower is attacked again she picks up a gun to help fight for the Guardians she at one felt high animosity towards. Who’s to say. But at this time she’s that character archetype who’s retired and found a peaceful life doing something that doesn’t contribute to violence and death. and that’s fine.

They wrote her out of the story. Its not a good way to do it, she went from the best weaponsmith in the tower to now someone who just makes cosmetics for guardians, all because the forges magically disappeared with no adequate explanation. And these forges disappeared because Bungie didn’t want forges in the game anymore. The story has to be well written not just made to fit what the Devs want as fast as possible
