I started playing D2 first. Just wondering if people still enjoy D1.
Would be a solo player. If it matters, on ps4.
Thanks.

Yeah don't listen to the fools saying D2 has a better sense of power... you only get that feeling when your super finally charges after killing a whole lobby's worth of enemies. D1 allows for a feel for true power if you've got the marksmanship.

Only for nostalgia. If you haven’t played it, no, especially if you are going solo. Story wise, D1 was always a mess. I got back to D2 with witch queen after a hiatus and I’m happy to see the storytelling has improved greatly. In D1 you really have no idea what you are doing and why you are doing it, unless you read grimoire. In the dark below and house of wolves expansion if I remember correctly there were no cutscenes at all, and your character doesn’t speak. I don’t even think it speaks during the taken king expansion.

If you can stay connected, check the D1 forums people are getting disconnected quite a bit.

I think so. In D1 you are the main character that drives the story. You get to speak and feel like you're important, unlike that other game where you're third guy from the left, taking coffee to Zavala and washing Ikora's sparrow.

Yes, Dark Souls is still a good game...

2 RepliesDivision 1 is a great game! And matchmaking is available for every activity, so if you ever get tired of running solo, you can go that route if you want.

Yes. There is a lot of content that can’t be accessed though anymore just because of time and age. Other than that it’s absolutely worth playing
licks finger
4 RepliesDefine "worth"? Imo, its not worth going back to play for the gameplay. Destiny 2 is SO much better than Destiny 1 was at this point, you'll find the experience dis-satisfying. Destiny 1 feels slow and clunky now in comparison with the speed and fluidity and raw power of Destiny 2. ...and going in as someone who has never played it, you won't have the benefit of nostalgia to help you overcome the game's flaws. OTOH, if you want to go back and play it from a LORE and STORY-telling standpoint----that is, to get to experience the major events of the timeline that shaped where we are in Destiny 2? Then that might be worth going back to play.

It's a personal decision. If you like D2 enough, then playing D1 won't be that much different. The main thing with D1 was the story content is sorely lacking. They made it so you had to come to Bungie.net and look things up if you were actually interested in finding out about the lore behind everything. In the game itself, there really is very little to give you any idea what is going on other than you are now a resurrected space zombie that kills things just because some stupid flying gadget woke you from your eternal rest, and some Bozo in the Tower who doesn't actually speak to or hear from the Traveler, but seems to think he can tell you what it wants you to kill things for.... It never made sense. So if you just want to go shoot stuff, have at it.

1 ReplyThe first Dishonored is definitely worth playing. It has an entirely different level design philosophy to Dishonored 2, so which one is better is really just a matter of taste, but both sre fantastic regardless. The Knife of Dunwall & Brigmore Witches are both quite nice, too.
