Hi,
I keep getting plum errored in the middle of activities.
I usually only get plum errors if I sit in orbit for a very long time, as I'm assuming the game prioritizes my connection less and less until the packet loss eventually causes BattlEye to boot me out.
However, for the past week or so I've been getting continual plum errors in the middle of activities. Got booted from multiple Iron Banner matches, kicked out of patrol zones, etc.
Resetting my router/modem and flushing my DNS cache seems to make the game more stable for a short time, but after about an hour or two the plum errors start again. I haven't had any other problems with my internet aside from this; I can connect to other websites, play other games, stream video, etc no problem. Interestingly enough, other PCs in my home can play the game without any errors.
List of attempted fixes based on suggestions I've seen:
- Disabling fullscreen optimizations
- Allowing Destiny 2 and BattlEye through Windows Firewall
- Updating graphics drivers
- Setting Destiny 2 to "High performance" in Windows advanced graphics settings
- Verifying integrity of game files in Steam
- Reinstalling the game (this worked for a short while)
- Reinstalling BattlEye by itself
- Ipconfig release/renew/flushdns
- Running sfc/scannow to fix any corrupted Windows files
- Using a VPN
- Using Wifi instead of a wired connection
- Connecting to internet via mobile hotspot to a different PC that is not getting plum errors
None of these solved the problem. Any tips appreciated, thank you.
Edit: Problem mysteriously went away after WQ launch but has returned today, 2022-03-15. Since the original post I've upgraded to gigabit internet so it is NOT my connection. Definitely seems to be a problem with Battleye service connecting to BE servers.
Thread here on this issue from another, smarter user who can confirm the plum errors occur at specific timed intervals: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTechSupport/comments/s775w2/pc_constant_battleeye_query_timeouts_error_code/
UPDATE: (Temporary?) fix identified - I factory reset my modem and router, uninstalled every game on my PC that uses Easy AntiCheat, and restarted my PC. I had a hunch that EasyAC might be interfering with BattlEye connection somehow since I had recently updated Halo Infinite before this issue came up again, which uses EasyAC. The last time I had this bug, I had just installed Lost Ark which also uses EasyAC. No plums after about 8 hours of play time, we'll see how long it lasts.
UPDATE 2: Plums are back. No other ideas. Might as well stop playing the game at this point.

Bump here as well - constant plum errors happening again. See topic in this thread below.
