Hunters in PVE need buffs or a rework SOMETHING

When it comes to finding a fireteam or even playing with anyone friends or random players you meet on LFG. As a hunter main there's nothing I can do as far as finding a PVE team for GM's Dungeons and basically anything that isn't raid which even then too many hunters is an issue. Let me explain with an example, Last night I tried to get a team together for GOA on Master simple task theres plenty who want to do it and plenty who'd love a boss checkpoint I can always make my own post and find a Titan or Warlock one Hunter joined then another Warlock. We launched we died to the boss repeatedly and what was our issue? Was it the fact we had two tethers? Maybe it's because we had no sustain? its one Warlock after all. We got destroyed sure we could've pulled through but my teammates left because it was frustrating time consuming and could've gotten done faster if they had a different subclass present. There lies our issue having two Hunters. Nearly every LFG that has two hunters fails because our class. Has nothing to offer in PVE we only have one thing that no other class can offer and it's invisibility. As far as anything else goes for our class to be generally viewed as "having utility" it severely lacks any real or viable utility that can't already be done more efficiently by another class. A few shining key examples... At the top of our usefulness we have the entire nightstalker class which is our only real viability in pve whatsoever. Stasis? The only class that provides our hunter some ranged utility it'd be amazing if it was a utility that every class has sure you're useful for focusing lens but it's only good for yourself just like any other stasis using class your gimmick is something anyone else can do that Warlock does better so why bother? Top tree Arc? The only viable thing here is self sustainability nothing useful as far as clearing as a team goes and you'd need liars handshake and a bunch of mods to keep this useful and with the nerf to dodge we're losing effectiveness in a build that is already not viable for GM's dps is more likely to kill you Mid tree ?and Bottom tree? Both are outclassed in add clear by Warlocks be you a shadebinder or Arclock your dps is literally more likely to get you killed than kill a boss Golden gun? Not even close to useful it's out dps'd by Titan code of missile whether you have celestial nighthawk equipped or not. Blade barrage? Once upon a time sure but shards were nerfed now literally anything else is viable you could dps but you're outclassed by code of missile Mid tree Void?? Sure you can add clear but everyone knows you belong in pvp you put the player at risk of death invisible or not you're out add cleared by anything else DPS? Is literally useless. Subclass Struggles aside let's get into the next meat and potatoes of our problems. Armor Exotics. This is one that even you Titans and Warlocks ca-blam!- is ridiculous. Every new exotic our class receives is tailored to PVP sure we get a blue moon PVE exotic like Stareaters but look at all of our exotics and tell me our entire class isn't just tailored for PVP. We literally have an exotic that just gives you radar... An exotic that gives you a bouncy knife? I can shift places and teleport?? Most of the hunter beyond light exotics EXCLUDING Ominoculous and Stareater scales Are PVP tailored. Sure Radiant dance machines are great for pve if you're stasis and have a dodge aspect but your dodge got nerfed too bad it's useless now. Bombardiers? You're pvp tailored it's clear but the dodge nerf we received killed you in pvp you're a gimmick not something useful. It's all sad our class be it PVE or PVP our ability to be creative is stunted. We only have one thing left for PVE that's GM viable and its Omnioculus. I think I speak for all Hunter mains when we say we want more viable options! I'm happy to address any and all criticism to this feel free to debate as well but let's try and get bungie to see this and fix it because let's face it. You're all tired of seeing us in PVP We are too and we're tired of recycling stuff. We want really viable options! Thank you for your time!😁

    • Only subpar gamers wouldn't know how to stack with a Hunter, much less two. With competent players, you can get a stack of Hunters in any activity, and knock it out with just as much gusto as the other two classes. Only those that lack talent themselves feel that it's the CLASS that makes the player, instead of the other way around

The problem isn’t that you had two Hunters. It’s that most Hunters are pvp player, and don’t gear up properly for pve at that level because they think it’s “easy”. That first boss fight is all about survivability. As no one can survive long under fire outside of cover. So clearing it is about going with builds that either allow you to withstand more damage, heal, or avoid aggro. The Warlock should be running Well, and using it for damage phase. Also on pve content at that level you have to play the game as a cover shooter. Take out the Fallen on the ledge from cover. Grab the scorch cannon. Time your push through the doors when your Warlock has a rift. That is where lots of people fail because they don’t make any allowances for crowd control in that tight space. I’m gonna crowd control with my GUN!!! Sure you are…and that’s why you keep dying, and your Fireteam keeps being over run…. One person grabs the engrams and the runs to deposit them while the other two dram aggro from the boss. Rinse and repeat until damage phase. A good place to drop the Well is on the ledge above and to the Ogre’s left. Because it has cover you can use to shield yourself from fire as the well runs out. The best Hunter builds are void (invisibility, tether as a panic super for crowd control) or stasis (damage super for the boss, grenade and melee slow mobs for help with crowd control) TLDR: I’m a warlock main, but I play a Hunter alt, and they are NOT underpowered or end game irrelevant. People just need to respect the challenges of pve at that level, understand how to build for it..then apply what Hunters do best to solving the problem the fight presents. The problem is that Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn has made both the player base and the devs complacent. Pop yer super and stand there and face tank….

        • Double bouncy knife slays in PvE. 3 crits and it kills champions. Even more fun if we get the artifact mod that increases solar melee dmg by 50%
