Why are you speaking for other people?
Fanfiction belongs in the lore tab. It’s definitely not feedback.

From another post:
You missed the point. You wouldn't expect a piece of fiction, in a library, to end up in the non-fiction section and the library goes saying, "deal with it." We place those tags to be appropriate... and so others can find what they are looking for... and if one section just happens to be off? Well, that responsibility belongs to the person who chose to place their book in the non-fiction section when it was really fiction. There is zero reasons to boot one section out. We all came to the library. Now it's just about making sure we are all sorted out correctly.
From the original post since you missed it:
Now the entire front page doesn't have a single use of it. Friendly reminder that people leave when lore gets overrun with people not following stuff like that and eventually down the road? When a group loses enough people to other tags? Bungie replaces that tag on the All Topics tab.
This isn't about "speaking for other people". This is about established precedent back when Lore was being brought up after being combined with fanfiction and people compromising to label their posts correctly so we wouldn't bother one another. That's all this is: Just a friendly reminder that fanfiction is not lore and lore is not fanfiction, thus we should use the tag system to make sure we are seeing discussion threads different from the stories people want to tell. It's all fine and dandy to be here, but let's make sure we follow what we all agreed on back then.

Well, it’s definitely not feedback.
-
You missed the point. Again. Who ever said it was supposed to be feedback?
-
I didn’t miss your point dude, I don’t agree with you.
-
Yes you did. There is a whole of zero people saying fanfiction posts should be moved to feedback. Stay on topic.
-
You’re saying they shouldn’t be in lore. They are much closer to lore than anything else.
-
You’re saying they shouldn’t be in lore.
Where in ANY of my post do you see me saying fanfiction posts shouldn't be in lore and should instead be moved to feedback? You didn't read the post. Go read the post.
They are much closer to lore than anything else.
You and I are of the same understanding of this had you read the post.
-
I did.
-
Then how do you land at the idea of feedback as opposed to this:
So this is just a simple ask: Fanfiction writers, could you please keep using the fanfiction tag? Thanks.
-
I was mocking your idea.
-
So that was sarcasm? 🤔
-
OP is here saying that story content can’t be in the forum section for story content. So I mocked him, by saying well it obviously can’t go in feedback.
-
Mmm...no...OP is saying to use the right tags. Simple enough. He just expounded a bit on why proper tags are important. And why mock?
-
The post seemed worthy of being mocked.
-
Why? OP was trying to be helpful.
-
Edited by Rogue: 12/28/2021 2:02:08 AMTrying to exclude and control people isnt helpful. Fanfiction as a subject is about the lore of destiny 2, it belongs in the lore tab of the Destiny 2 forums. OP tried to claim if it continues that people will stop going to the lore forum. That’s incredibly insulting, and they have no precedent for that. They are speaking for the lore community, it’s detestable.
-
Does it sound like he's trying to control or exclude? He's reminding awesome writers to use the correct tag, because that's what they're supposed to do. I don't see the controlling or excluding you're talking about. Enlighten me?
-
Edited by Rogue: 12/28/2021 2:05:34 AMRead the post. They are claiming that if people keep posting Fanfiction, it’ll drive people away from the lore forums. Because apparently fresh new content isn’t preferable to people asking the same questions about the lore every day. They are trying to control where people post, and trying to exclude Fanfiction writers from the sub forum they’ve been using for years. I happen to disagree, I think Fanfiction as a topic is about lore, and therefor belongs in the lore sub forum. Why are you trying to police me?
-
OP is actually just asking for fanfiction writers to add an extra tag to their posts to differentiate it in the Lore sub forum so people who are looking for fan fiction can specifically go to those posts and people who are looking for threads about canon lore can go to threads without that tag. It is all still posted in the Lore sub forum, just the tags show what the actual post is. Because people who are looking for canon lore discussion don't want to be in a fan-fiction thread and vice-versa.

Edited by Rogue: 12/28/2021 2:51:18 AMAre we gonna start dividing general and feedback up into pvp, PVE, complaints, questions, theories etc? When I read general I don’t wanna read pvp posts, yet I’m not out here pretending to speak for the community and saying people will leave the forums if the pvp posters aren’t excluded? There REALLY aren’t that many people who even write FF in the first place. At least the lore section is being used. For weeks at a time, the front page of the lore forum doesn’t even change.

Because apparently fresh new content isn’t preferable to people asking the same questions about the lore every day.
Only posting, no. Posting and using wrong tags, maybe. But I gotta say, if some Joe shmo gets ticked cause people aren't using the right tags, the problem might not be the tags, if ya know what I mean.
They are trying to control where people post, and trying to exclude Fanfiction writers from the sub forum they’ve been using for years.
I don't see how. Using proper tags is all I've seen, and that's pretty even keel.
I happen to disagree, I think Fanfiction as a topic is about lore, and therefor belongs in the lore sub forum.
I completely agree! I get annoyed by the naysayers who don't like fanfiction in lore. I was a writer in these forums, too... once upon a time. Using proper tags made people less annoyed, heh heh.
Why are you trying to police me?
Am I? Pretty sure I'm just asking questions, trying to get your opinion; why you say what you say.
