The game has been nearly unplayable for me since the last update. I cannot join fireteams, I cannot join match made activities as I generally cannot see other guardians in the game. After doing everything I can think of at my end, I was wondering what possible networking changes were done at Bungie's end? Based on the number of networking problem posts on this forum alone, there's clearly something weird going on. I haven't had any networking issues with this game before, so I don't have a history of bad network settings, connection stability, restrictions/bans etc.
Clearly, something changed with the Hotfix 3.3.1.1 or around the time it became available last Thursday.
(Insert your generic 'you clearly have a network connection issue' remark + the copy-paste list of things to check here. I get that, it's a connection issue of some sort.)
I have:
- Updated the game, cleared my PS4 cache (several times), and even reinstalled the game.
- Tried a LAN connection instead of WiFi.
- Done a full reset on my router.
- Tested other online games. They check ok.
- Gone through the networking and advanced networking troubleshoot suggestions by Bungie. I've always had UPnP and IVP6 enabled, but I also tried port forwarding.
- Checked with my ISP. My local and outside connection is strong, and no changes have been made with my ISP.
- Tried different accounts (my own as well as my sons', on the same console; they have the same problem). I haven't been restricted or banned. At least I haven't received any notifications of these things, nor should I have.
- Cried on the floor. Like a lot. Seriously, this is so frustrating, as the only thing I did before the problems started was update the game as usual.
