I feel like it's possible Bungie could have tweaked the gun just a wee bit too much, and now Vex is just a tad bit too strong in PvP (my complaint is the range it melts is a few meters too far). Not that there aren't weapons that can beat it up close or out of its effective range, but trying to use a pulse or a non-Vex auto at that mid range was usually asking for a bad time. Edit: I would be remiss if I didn't add that the odd connection issues couldn't have also had a hand in feeling like I barely got my second burst off before the enemy Vex killed me. I'd be interested to know if Vex still melts people as quickly when the connection isn't trash.

  • if the gun has to be touched in PVP that is fine i have no issue with that However in PVE leave it alone and let it be great. But what ever changes they do in PVP will have an effect on the gun a whole which means it would affect PVE as well which i am afraid of.

  • Literally all they have to do to balance it is revert the rate of fire buff. It fixes the ridiculous time to kill in PvP and still melts in PvE since the 30 RoF really doesn’t matter that much when you’re shooting things with hundreds of thousands of health.

  • Oddly enough, they could tweak its damage for Crucible only, but I don't know what they were trying to accomplish with Mythoclast: Do they want a gun that is effective at longer ranges in its autorifle form? Or A weapon that melts targets at closer ranges, then goes linear fusion mode to melt farther targets? As it is, it does both quite well, but that's yet another issue with sandbox balance in Crucible. All that said, it's mercifully rare to come across in Crucible. I feel like if the RNG to get Mythoclast wasn't so soul crushing, it would definitely overrun Crucible.
