I do want a cabal dungeon and a vex dungeon. My guess is no matter where you put a vex dungeon it would take place in some vex dimension so doesn't really matter where you do that one. The scorn dungeon would be rad but I'm holding out for a set of missions where Fanatic meets crow and tries to murder the light out of him to rez him as his "Father" Uldren. Presumably we'd be chasing him down to stop this ritual and inevitably end the scorn once and for all!

  • My idea for the Vex actually wouldn’t go into another dimension, just deep underground on Nessus. And yeah, a Cabal Dungeon would be sick

  • I don't have any problem with an underground setting for the vex, but i admit, it doesnt particularly match vex habits. The hive are the faction we know that burrow, and burrow damn deep into planetoids. The vex always seem to be doing their terraform jazz topside down. I actually assume that the vex have been trying to make a massive portal between their terraformed Nessus, Mercury, and Europa in an attempt to allow their main force to enter our domain at an insane rate. What would the vex be doing underground? care to divulge your underground vex dungeon?

  • Remember the nexus strike in D1? They essentially burrowed into venus attempting to turn it into a machine like mercury.

  • Sure. Essentially if it were actually introduced in the game, there’d be reports of strange singing coming from Nessus that’s luring Guardians, Fallen and Cabal alike into the Well of Flame in The Cistern (near the start point of the Inverted Spire Strike.) Players might receive a quest or something from Failsafe who’d talk about how it was “music to her ears” but would admit it sounds like Vex attempting brainwashing. Inside the Well, the room with the shining golden lasers would be a puzzle where players would use interactable consoles to arrange the lasers a different way and discover the floor was actually a massive door. Players would descend and be captured by Vex, but fight their way out past a few mini-bosses and puzzles before reaching the boss room. Here there would be 3 Vex, called “Sirens,” that would be the source of the song. They would attack the players upon entering. I’m not done figuring out their mechanics yet but once defeated, the lore would reveal the Sirens were luring other races to be captured and experimented on to be turned into Vex cyborgs of some sort. The Sirens themselves would also sorta be Vex replicas of Hive Deathsingers

  • Brilliant! I think this ties into that old adventure on Nessus too and I love the idea of using the Cistern because its a pretty awesome designed structure without any purpose at this juncture in the game. Sounds cool.

  • Thanks! And plus unlike the Dungeons we actually have, this hypothetical one would have its own unique loot and exotic (well ok Pit has Xenophage but still.) It’d be a Dungeon that I feel fans of the Vault of Glass Raid would enjoy

  • Pit of Hersey is such a cool dungeon with the Xenophage tie in. I really liked having an exotic weapon tied to the dungeon but not its completion.

  • I agree, Pit is my favorite imo. But this Dungeon’s Exotic would be treated like how Mythoclast was/is, it can drop from any loot chest or encounter/boss completion.
