SMGs were introduced specifically for close range. To replace the high rof w/ low impact autos from D1, like my Arminius-D.
Smgs are short range and should stay short range. Hybrids make balancing even harder.
I think seasonal rotating metas is the best we can hope for.
Mainly since we would all know when they would change, so people who don’t like it can plan around it. Also we wouldn’t have to rely on Bungie to realize there is an issue and then wait who knows how long while they fumble around for a fix.

the issue is that a 600 AR has more range then a 600 SMG and yet a LOWER ttk value 600 AR 0.7 600 SMG 0.73

If all you wanted was a lower ttk to make smgs more viable for close range, a damage buff is all it takes. You’re asking for a smg meta and across the archetypes. That’s two different things.

Let me be clear, I wouldn’t mind buffs to smgs or smg meta Yet your suggestion of more handling, stand alone, is somehow going to lower the ttk to be competitive with autos? It wouldn’t. In regards to ttk, a lot of your suggestions wouldn’t do it. Just be honest. You want smgs to be buffed and/or made meta. I actually agree. I think there is too much long range and the only short range game is shotties, which isn’t that fun. SMGs blazing all around is much more fun. My kinda chaos. So if I am to take your ideas as a suggestion to make an smg buff/meta, I don’t find any real fault except the range issue. That’s the main differential, their ranges. You gotta keep some firm hardliners to keep weapon classes from overlapping. I think if you want a hybrid, it should be exotic.
