I think they're fine. Sliding is broken, you shouldn't be able to shoot while doing it. And Quickdraw is just too... "Must have," albeit it can be swapped for Threat Detector without too much trade-off. In terms of raw stats, pellet shotguns are fine as-is. You have summoned me.

Agreed that quickdraw is too essential on shotguns. I see it as way more of a problem than range, always have.

  • So you want people to stop using shotguns altogether then? Cuz that's what it sounds like.

No? I think shotguns are mostly fine. I complain about them way less than most people. I just think quickdraw is too much of a mistake fixer and too obvious of a perk choice as theres no competition whenever it is rollable so something should be done about that.

  • Well most shotguns have shit handling. And honestly unless you're playing alot of rumble. Threat detector isn't the answer.

  • So why can't we buff the base handling so they don't feel like absolute dogshit without Quickdraw? Quickdraw is the definition of a crutch perk on a shotgun, since rolls and guns lacking it (or Threat Detector) are generally seen as trash tier.

  • I agree but aggressive frames are already busted. Why make them more busted by giving them the same handling stats as precision or lightweight frames? That would make them even more busted

Shotguns having shit handling is fine by me. I far prefer that over people having a primary out and being caught of guard in a bad position and being able to literally instantly swap and seamlessly fix their mistake. You should have to think about which weapon you have out like in d1, back then no one used quickdraw on shotties because it sucked compared to the other options which were all range enhancers like rifled barrel and reinforced barrel. That was enjoyable and it felt like using a shotty was skillful because if you got caught off guard with a primary out you couldnt swap instantly and you usually died, deservingly so.

  • While I understand that. As someone who uses a quick draw shotty I can honestly say. Until they do something about shoulder charging monkeys, which will be when pigs fly, I stick to it. Especially in playlists like rumble. It's already nerve wracking as is but to have to try and avoid a crayon-eater while you have no time just simply isn't feasible. Especially since I'm a lock main. Now if you're talking slug shotties then you have nothing to worry about cuz no one uses them anyway but buck-shotties. I mean there are viable counters too them.
