Agreed. It actually takes a little more map awareness to memorize the general direction ricochets will go on a given angled wall. Doctrine of passing was just dirty back then lol I feel like it hard light catches an adjustment, everyone will run to suros, which will then be screamed about for nerfs. And so on until we are back to a HC/SG meta, so the people complaining can go back to claiming they are the best with their crutched loadouts, not caring that they are only “the best” because they had everything reduced that was “better” lol

  • The two biggest issues I see with the current state of the game and community is. 1.) There is no separation in balancing when it comes to PvE vs PvP. If they were to separate them for balancing there would be a much better system to work with. 2.) People will always cry for a nerf but never a buff unless it's for their subclass abilities. There should be situations where instead of beating everything that's good with a nerf hammer, buff the under performing stuff.

  • Agree on the first one completely, but disagree on the second. I know that nerfs are considered to have a negative connotation, and this may be due to over-nerfing things or just people crying because their favorite gun can’t pub stomp everything short of raid boss by themselves. However, nerfs and buffs are both balance, which is necessary. The majority of casual players, it seems, just want to power the game on, be a god to their enemies, and get showered in so much loot that they become even more gods. They want to solo encounters (because they don’t WANT to find a fireteam) easily and have it take like 10 minutes max. That’s what they consider fun. While that may be fun to them, it isn’t fun to those who enjoy making a build and seeing the effects of their hard work when they have good timing with their team and loadouts. If bungie caters to this, and just buffs subclasses, abilities, etc., then there is no point in engaging the RPG side of the game. At that point, the game becomes borderlands. I got a little off topic, but the point I’m making about buffs and nerfs is more about the amount of work it takes to do these. All changes do undergo testing (despite what people think). Testing takes time and other resources, which are dependent on manpower of course. In order to achieve balance, it may be much easier to bring DOWN one class of weapons than to bring UP all of the other ones. Would you honestly choose the greater amount of work to achieve the same end result? Sure, the nerf makes the guns affected feel weaker, but all change feels different in some way. We adapt, and continue on. My buddy took HHSN for a spin yesterday, and said that while he notices the activation time is longer, it was still mopping people in the same ranges he used it for. It just wasn’t able to be used like a shotgun anymore, but rather more like a slightly faster fusion.
