Israeli players get the wrong server redirection after steam move

top ip is constant from login , bottom one is inside crucible match , we somehow redirected to usa servers, and not europe servers Dear whom it may concern, I am writing to you regarding an issue about Israeli players , bungie login server is redirecting us to usa instead of europe . I currently live in Israel, I have been playing destiny since its release date, which I do enjoy the game. However when using your service to play your game I have noticed that you have linked all the Israel players to your US servers, my main concern is that I am receiving a high ping rate, which is affecting the lag in the gameplay, making it sometime impossible to play. We are confused as to why you have linked us to the US servers and not the ones situated Europe as this would reduce the ping rate to 60-80 which is a lot better than the 200+ ping rates I have been getting as well as the other players. I am all a leader and apart of 10 other clans which has over 100 Israeli gamers in each one: • Destinyisrael • DestinyIsrael1 • Destinyisrael2 • DestinyIsrael3 • Israeli vaunguard • Vex offensive • Oryx took the kids • War bois • Careless whisper • Savathun took the kids • israeli guardians We have invested our time and money into this game to then be welcomed with overwhelming glitches and lags in the game, making our game play quite unpleasant. This has only started happening since we moved from blizzard to steam as you could pick the region you wanted to play in. We are loyal customer and active user and we want this issue to be sorted as we aren’t getting the best of bungie at the moment, all we ask is that you move all of the Israeli players to the European servers so we too can enjoy the game like every other country that has access to Destiny. If you could write back to us about what you are going to do, I would really appreciate it. Sincerely, Falling Awake – Head of destiny 2 israeli community

As a former member of the vibrant Israeli Destiny 2 community I would like to add my voice to Falling Awake's. He is a valuable community organizer and a strong voice for all Israeli players. Bungie would do well to listen to his message.

Don't seem to be grasping how the connectivity is laid out for the game. At work, so can't create images for a visual representation, so going to outline a way to try to generate an appropriate snapshot yourself. Go to your router's GUI and see if you can find a list of your recent connections. Different brands will stick the log in different places. Here is an example from an Asus router's system log section: http://demoui.asus.com/Main_ConnStatus_Content.asp Pay attention to all the UDP connections for your system's address. That is the bulk of your gameplay connections, including cloud servicing and player direct connections. It can be a long list because it is showing all connections for your network. May be able to narrow the list in the network tools section. Some routers will have a netstat-nat function that will let you filter it by a system's IP address, like here (change the function in the top box first): http://demoui.asus.com/Main_Netstat_Content.asp This will work regardless the platform you are on (consoles and windows), as it is looking at all your network traffic going through the router. Alternatively, for the Windows platform, you can try the netstat command from a command prompt:
netstat -p udp tcp
Should give you a list of all recent tcp and udp connections for the system it is run on.

  • Bungie only has servers in Bellevue, Washington... so there is nowhere else for you to go for those two persistent connections. Check all your active connections while playing and you should see you are also connecting to cloud services closer to you, as well as the other players.
