Since were on the topic of this, i just wanna share a really depressing moment about a fellow colorblind player like yourself in my clan when we tried to have him be a runner for Gauntlet onboard Leviathan.

This is one very good example of other areas it has a negative effect in game for sure thank you for posting this.

That's unfortunate. It would be a mildly infuriating thing to remedy, though. Bungie would need to add a player status check before you're allowed to launch the raid. Ergo: "Does your fireteam contain any color-blind/vision-impaired Guardians?" And if yes, you mark the member on the roster, and it applies a buff to that player that runs for the duration of the Raid that changes any mechanic that has a color value assigned to it. That's how it would work in theory. In practice, that would be a headache and a half to code. The other option would be for them to rework the way the whole colorblind system works, or at least have any color values applied inside of raids to be recognized by the colorblind system. That they aren't is developer oversight...which isn't uncommon for in a multiplayer game.

I mean it looks like they were all able to laugh about it, instead of turning on him for something out of his control which I have heard and seen happen before. But ya that's definitely a bit of oh shit moment right there.
-
hes one of our dearest friends we wouldnt have ripped him for that. we did joke about it for weeks though
-
That could be me too. I refuse to be the runner because of that issue. And I have tried various color blind options, but none of them help in this situation because that doesn't' change the red-green color scheme.
-
I'm only red green and a little bit of some others, but it's the color issue only on prestige?
-
no its for both, but on normal mode your colorblind players just dont have to run gauntlet, they can sit on plates the whole time. On Prestige, to pass its required every player does at least 1 lap in gauntlet, which is when it forces colorblind players to give it a shot

So he couldn't see the rings while running? I called some wrong, and definitely had to be right in front to see the different ones, but could do it. We haven't done prestige, but did do the challenge. Hell, i ran more than anything because despite my visual issuers, i could at least do the jumps regularly. Hence our clan name.
-
^ this is the very reason I could not run and never did a prestige

Edited by Carbiniz3r: 12/2/2019 6:09:03 PMSo we got around that prestige leviathan by having him share his screen with me in a discord call, and i called out for him and he just ran. hence why he does have 1 prestige completion

I wish more gamers had this level of teamwork and empathy as opposed to the belligerent toxicity everywhere here. The whole story you just spun was worth its own post.

Nice.. never thought of that
