If the Kvhostov exotic is anything to go off of this would be useless.

The hell you talkin bout, khostov was a good exotic
-
It was good but the only effective way too use it was as a 900 rpm auto. And it that point you’re better off with a doctrine of passing or an arminius-D
-
Oh hands down, doctrine all the way I just dont think it was THE worst exotic

-
It was one of the worst exotics that have ever been in Destiny. That is not up for debate.
-
Sounds like youre pretty biased, weapon served me real good in raids and crucible in D1

It was literally either a legendary scout rifle, auto rifle, or pulse rifle. And I’m pretty sure it was just and auto rifle firing either in a burst or semi auto. It was trash, especially compared to something like outbreak prime, bad Juju, red death, or zhalo supercell. -
I’m not biased. I’m just aware of the fact that it was a horrible exotic.
-
"Not up for debate" Sounds pretty biased, now i would agree that if youre taking the game seriously, it really isnt a choice if you were running something like trials and tryingnto sweat. But if there was a very proper term to classify the gun, its that it was adaptable, in nearly any situation you could just swap mods around and give yourself an advantage. Was it good? Ehhhhhh. Was it bad? Dare i say the worst? No, theres others that take that title. Dregs promise (pre buff and even then the post buff felt so underperforming) that exotic lmg that came with RoI, Hereafter (good concept, kinda useless) Point being, I wouldn't classify khostov as THE worst
-
It was one of the worst. It didn’t do a single thing well. It didn’t even do anything at an average level. The most exotic thing about the Khvostov was the fact that it wasted your exotic slot. I wish it was good, but it just wasn’t even close.
-
Ah see now one of the worst is acceptable, i can agree there The thing about it is you could feel that if Bungie patched it without ANY thought, they could have easily made it broken on an accidental level, but on that very topic, if they DO bring back Khostov, it would probably outshine a majority of the D2 exotics as reprised D1 exotics have a tendency to just be better than D2 So while it may be rather underwhelming, at least it its not as bad as D2 exotics.
-
D2’s weakness with exotics lies mostly with armor. There’s a lot of decent-great exotic weapons. But the armor is almost exclusively shit. Each subclass maybe has one good specific choice, with the general purpose exotics being almost non existent in terms of actually good ones.
-
Yea theres some pretty good weapons, but every reprised D1 exotic has easily outshined them, even for DPS a majority of people would rather use a kinetic d1 pulse than an exotic D2 heavy. But yea its weird, bungie focused alot on the armor system in D2 yet cant really get the system right.
-
This one could change into a shotgun or sniper rifle if you wanted.
-
Why not use an exotic/legendary that serves the purpose better? There’s nothing useful about an exotic that just does average at everything.
-
You get to choose three barrel and/or magazine perks. You can make it have almost whatever stats you want, the trait is to make sure it isn’t overly op.
-
There’s just no point for such an exotic. Legendaries would always outshine it. It was the exact same issue with the Khvostov.
-
But it gives you the option to have whatever kinetic weapon with whatever stats you want. You can swap between PvP and PvE rolls, long range and short range fire, with the catalyst the penalty is less and you get to pick one trait (plus orb generation).
-
Why do that when there’s plenty of legendaries that aren’t wasting an exotic slot?
-
You’d get a god roll that has an extra mod slot. You’d use it circumstantially for when you need a fusion rifle or a sniper for a boss, and then you can quickly change it back to primary for ad clear.
-
Or you could just not waste your exotic slot on Kvhostov 2.0
-
Does way more than Kvhostov. Especially if you made the trait you chose something like fundamentals so you can also swap from an arc bow to a void pulse rifle — definitely worth it.
-
I hate to say it, but jack of all trades exotics will literally never be good. Mainly because they’ll never be worth using over legendaries or other, better exotics.
-
If you say so.
