Just because they parted with Activision doesn't mean they will to have cross-platform compatibility. It's all up to Sony (I think Microsoft was fine with the idea). I know they have done it in the past so it might be a possibility.

  • It's not up to Sony, it's up to Bungie. Bungie can build and implement a cross-platform solution just fine. Whether Sony allows that feature to be allowed on their platform is a separate issue. But if Sony says no, then they're just gonna piss off their own player base and potentially drive away customers that decide to buy the game on a different platform that does allow cross-play. And that's the last thing Sony wants.

That's my point though... You can't have cross-play if Sony doesn't agree to it (for crossplay with PS4) Besides fornite, they haven't been open to cross-play

  • You can totally have cross play. XBox and PC players would be able to do whatever the hell they want. If Sony says no then only their players get affected, simple as that. Sony looks like the bad guy while everyone else gets to have fun.

  • Cross-play bewteen PC and Console would be horrible for PvP. It would be fine for PvE but I'm sure you will just see more post asking for PC players.

  • I'm just going to assume you missed the part where I said:
-Cross-platform fireteams should be limited to PvE-only activities by default for console players, with the option to turn that restriction off. Similar to how PUBG and Fortnite are setup (I think, I've never actually played either of those but I hope you get my point)
• It's been awhile since I read the original post. I'm not against cross-play in PvE; so I agree with you there. In the original comment I just wanted to state it is up to Sony for cross-play with PS4. Just going to mention that only having cross-play between Xbox and PC won't do much considering only 18% play on Xbox. The majority of the playerbase is on PS4.
