Honestly wats more important is stopping the reasons people feel the need to do these things in the first place. The incentive to cheat being there is the root cause of the problem...the incentive to cheat is the fact that the two most op primaries in pvp are locked behind a ladder mode that is very very punishing

Agreed. To be honest, it's bass ackwards : players who are really good should start losing access to OP guns, so top tier players will not be able to use guns like Luna's. After all, if they really are that good, they shouldn't need an OP gun to still win in Competitive. And make it so people who already have OP guns unlocked aren't matched against people who don't. Otherwise 4-stacks with Lunas and Not Forgottens will just sit there actively preventing other people from getting them, the way they did in D1 Trials to prevent Lighthouse access.

^This. They’ve been incentivizing cheating since D1 Trials. No one complained at first because flawless was attainable as cheats hadn’t proliferated. I’m also a little disappointed that the focus here is solely on denial of service. My router log is jam-packed with packet flood entries. Truth is it’s not the ones killing your network who are most prevalent; it’s the ones sending just a few more packets per trigger pull. Bungie could trace it all if they had real servers. Instead they give players the only policing mechanism, and then tell us they can’t adhere because of all the false positives. Of course there are false positives when you allow children to report, or mix in emotions after a tough loss. It’s baked in!

There are things they could do to improve it, sure...but no.matter what you do, people are going to try to scheme the system because they are just those type of people...so what is the answer? So giving incentive to play crucible just to keep a few from cheating? I'm not sure rats the best idea for the community...or for Bungie...all they can really do is keep trying to improve the game as much as they can...whether that means changing the point system or developing better methods of detecting cheaters faster, I'm not sure, I'm not a programmer or designer but I would hope they are thinking about and working on all of that...I prefer to have quests to chase myself, even if that means dealing with a few bad apples once in a while
-
They should go back to the d1 system of not tying seasonal rankings to getting good weapons as i still feel there is a loot problem similar to last year (due to boring and low variety perks) In d1 you got weapons for ranking up and post game. Comp should be where you go once you have all the weapons and are fully geared up. One could argue trials offers premier guns but thats based on one good playing session not a full sesson (*cough* semester) maintaining a glory rank (cough* gpa) If i wanted to play destiny for gpa i would question my sanity

It’s simple supply and demand. The demand for the weapons is greater than the available supply at the price tag to get it. Hence why some will cheat and circumvent the price.
-
You nailed kt homie...and if aspects of a game are less like a game and more like a market im out. Gonna stay away from comp for the near future; its still in beta imo and they are not really sure about what they wanna do with it yet.
-
Yeah, I would agree with this line of thought as well. The competitive format does feel slapped together and unpolished, like the whole point loss system was an afterthought. I would have expected to see some kind of point reimbursement system where if you have a streak of losses you can get all or a percentage of those points back after a win in addition to the bonus points, and frankly heavy and supers have no business being in elimination game modes in a format where skill is supposed to be the main focus, it takes NO skill to blow away the enemy team with a couple supers and a heavy weapon.
-
This is still Destiny. Plenty of other FPS’s out there without supers or heavy weapons. This is still Destiny. Sounds like the game mode you describe should be on a different game... Oh wait, it is! This is still Destiny, no need for every FPS to be the same stripped down, uninspired game.
-
you mean like that system the invented for iron banner in d1 and everyone loved it and played the heck out of it??? Hahaha thats bungo for you
-
Yeah, EXACTLY like that system.
-
It should be locked. Skillful players should be rewarded by earning guns that lesser players can't get. You can't blame Bungo for encouraging cheating when the problem is clearly people who feel the need to cheat. Also, Luna's howl isn't OP. It rewards precise hesdshots with devastating damage but magnificent howl isn't actually that good in crucible. At optimal range, the gun kills in two headshots and a body so even if you proc the perk, you'd kill them anyway. Obviously any HC kills in three headshots so that's also irrelevant. I haven't got Not Forgotten so I can't talk about how good it is but again, its an elite weapon - I haven't seen one player use it that wasn't a very good player so to me, they deserve the gun. Final point - getting Luna's Howl isn't hard, it takes patience and say goodbye to your KD if you're soloing but personally I think Redrix's was a bigger pain in the ass to get.
-
My kd went from 1.48 to 1.54 so idk it went up in comp

Edited by Forza: 11/10/2018 6:00:00 PMEvery hand cannon CANNOT kill in 3 taps. Only 110 140 and 150s can 3 tap. 180s is a 4 tap. Lunas howl is a 3 with magnificent howl or a 2 tap if u get the magnificent howl in 1st. How u get the audacity to speak when u know nothing is amazing.

Edited by Phobos113: 11/10/2018 3:30:55 AMWat?... This guy must be on drugs or something.. First he says, basically, the gun is not that good *cough, cough, bullshit, cough*, then he says that supply and demand doesn't matter.. REALLY?... Yeah, since when has something as silly as supply and demand ever had an effect on anything? Surely it didn't help fund violent gangs in the 20's in America, and surely it has nothing to do with the frequent drug wars that are being fought in Mexico all the time today. Nope, supply and demand has nothing to do with it...
-
What are you talking about; you absolute whopper - there's a massive gap between cheating at a video game and importing drugs. Secondly, I assume you're talking about America, which frankly the less said about that the better. Third, you don't even have Luna's Howl so how you can have any opinion on how good the gun is, only you know. Finally, the fact you had to edit your post, shows to me, you should probably spend less time playing games and pretending you know things on forums and more time studying. Think you need it brah.
-
But you dont have it either...you havent even a single glory point in comp lol
-
Not sure what that's about but I'm pretty sure my warlock has it equipped. You might be looking at my Xbox profile - haven't played since CoO on Xbox.
-
I hate DTR it never shows all assets people have. Last person it didnt show their PC profile
-
It is wonky TBH I just use the app to view people - it's faster now too.
-
Spoken like a typical child with no good counter argument.
-
I'm a 25 year old journalist lol and my counter argument is that you're a drama queen who like to give their opinion about something they don't understand - which if I'm not mistaken, is something that children do... Childish 😂
-
You must be a 25 year old left leaning journalist who writes for some main stream rag then, since all they know how to do for the most part is twist or not tell the whole story, complain about non issues, and come to bad conclusions. The fact that you changed the focus of the subject to myself, and then felt the need to point out my poor proof reading skills, and make an issue out of the fact that "I don't have the gun, so I can't know what I'm talking about", when I've been killed by the thing enough times in Crucible and watched enough YouTube videos of "average players" getting triple kills with it with relative ease to prove that I DO in fact know what I'm talking about, tells me that you have no good counter argument to my initial point, and your fragile little ego knows it. By the way, if you had taken the time to set aside your wounded feefees over my facetious opening remarks about your sobriety to actually read what I had written, instead of skimming through it, you would have known that I was in fact talking about America in part of my comment. Judging from the way you are behaving, I think it's safe to assume that you are either a kid (and you are lying about being a 25 year old journalist), or you are a very childish woman (typical these days), because you certainly act like one.

Well to take a page out of your book, being dramatic, I've watched a video on how to fly a plane so... In fact, I've been on a plane a few times too so... Right, I cant relate to massive drug smuggling problems because I like in a society where drugs really aren't an issue. Plus my wife and my friends are the kind of people that don't like drugs so I've never even done any or know anyone who has (that I know of) and therefore comparing a video game to the things that you did, is genuinely ludicrous. I work for a music magazine - I don't report news. Your last comment about women is probably the most stupid thing you could've said. It shows a total lack of respect and understanding on where the world is now which completely reinforces my point that you're an uneducated baffoon - who needs to put down the controller and their phone and try to do the first 18 years of their life over again and actually not fail at it this time. With that in mind, I will be reporting you for sexism, something I find repulsive and offensive but more importantly ironic. You're complaining about someone cheating because they have something you don't have nor are good enough to get - yet you're showing ignorance and idiocy on a scale, which in my opinion, is worse than some nerdy teenager getting you kicked out of a match. Their thing is pathetic but trivial - yours depicts a much larger problem than fun and games, it shows a deep lack of awareness and mate, that is going to lead you nowhere in life. That's me being as polite as I can about that subject.

Firstly I'm in my 30s and the rules of supply and demand can be applied to more than just real world items, it doesn't matter what those items are, second you think I'M the one in the dark as to where the world is, and where it's headed?... You haven't been paying attention then (but who am I kidding? You haven't even lived as long as I have), or the stink hasn't gotten to your nose enough for you to start questioning things yet, but don't worry it will eventually and probably about the time it's too late for you to do anything about it. As for my comments about women being childish these days, they aren't sexist they are merely an informed opinion at best, but OH MUH GOD, WE CAN'T CRITICIZE TEH GODDESSES, THEY NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG OR MISBEHAVE! SEXISM, SEXISM, SEXISM!!!11! Clueless people like you are everything that is wrong with the world today, which by the way the very thing a childish instigator does when they can't win is whine to a higher authority in an effort to get the other person into trouble or shut down. YOU are the child and YOU have some growing to do, not me.
