I ran into 4 players who were better than me....and now I need something to blame.
Now you know what it was like in Year 1 of Destiny 2 playing as a Warlock against teams of Striker Titans. chasing you around the map while Titan skating.
..and teams of Arc Striders doing the same thing.
All that Nova Warp has done is return Warlocks to the level of power that they had in Destiny 1 before they got busted down to a support class for Y1 of D2.

You forgot pulse grenades and that the strikers melee is now a smash that you can get right back with skull fort.
-
True. But I wanted to keep my rant limited to the ways that Warlocks have been -blam!-ed over in the name of "competitive balance" (IOW, declawing and defanging them so that Hunters can dominate PVP)

Edited by daffect: 10/12/2018 5:33:44 PMYeah... no... that’s not a good translation. They were only better because of a super, no skill may I add. You seem to have never used dawnblade which is very viable and good in the hands of a player that knows how to work around the map.

Edited by kellygreen45: 10/12/2018 5:54:13 PMThank you for confirming the validity of my point, as you were trying to debunk it. Let me make one thing perfectly clear: I have been a Warlock since the Destiny 1 BETA. I have played every version of Warlock that this game has ever produced....and in every META this game has ever had. ...and All I'm hearing from you is the same WHINING from competitive tryhard that got Warlocks in general, and Stormcaller's in particular NERFED INTO THE GROUND by the end of Destiny 1....and Warlocks turned into a glorfied support class for vanilla Destiny 2. Let me see: 1. Viking Funeral is overpowered. 2. Firebolt grenades are over powered. 3. Axis bolt grenades track too aggressively. 4. Arc bolt grenades are too powerful. 5. Blink-shotgun is oppressive and uncounterable. 6. Fusion grenades are cheap and cheesy. 7. Fireborn (self-rez) is overpowered and unfair. 8. Thunderstike is overpowered, I'm tired of getting "mapped" by it. 9. Landfall is too strong. Its blinding effect and ability to take down Wards of Dawn is unfair. 10. Stormtrance last too long. I'm tired of getting killed twice by the same super. 11. Scatter grenades are OP. 12. Sunsinger shouldn't be an offensive super. RADIANCE IS A SUPPORT SUPER. ...and then there were all the Warlock exotics that got nerfed into the ground as well. Need. I. Go. On? Buy the time Destiny 2 dropped. Warlocks had been gutted. Because on TOP of all these other nerfs.....they were wholesale nerfed AGAIN...while the abilities of Hunters and Titans were buffed. 1. Warlock Melee range was reduced to that of other classes, despite Warlocks being slower and more fragile 2. Fusion grenades were stripped of the ability to OHK. 3. Warlocks had the ability to carry two grenades taken away, wheile that power was given to Titans. The ability to charge grenades was left in, but taking any damage aborts that process. 4. Self-rez was taken away. 5. Shatter (the three way, fast travelling Nova Bomb) was taken away...and the Joke that is Cataclysm (Slova Bomb) replaced it. 6. Stormtrance was ruthlessly nerfed both in terms of damage and duration. Even still it is an absolute joke in PVE with respect to damage. The entire output of your super isn't enough ot kill a single mini-boss. While Arcstriders can single handedly take out a Pub even boss with theirs 7. Then on top of all these SPECIFIC nerfs....the ruthless increase in the length of ability cooldowns and nerfing of the duration of supers hit Warlocks disproportionately hard because their BALANCE was dependant upon their strong abiltiies to make up for their lack of agility and lack of durability. Dawnblade was an improvement---offensively----compared to Sunsinger. But it was still an underpowered joke compared to what Voidwalker and Stormcaller could do in both PVP and PVE in Year 1. What you are WHINING about is a Warlock simply being given BACK (as a Voidwalker) what he was able to do in Destiny 1 as a Stormcaller. Which is why the -blam!-ING nerf calls from you tryhards are starting up again.

Now warlocks have the best PVP subclass period while Hunter and Titan are still shadows of their former selves. And I say this as a warlock main since D1 beta

Edited by kellygreen45: 12/23/2018 11:12:23 AMWarlocks were shit on to the point that they were broken. On both sides of the game. Because you have whiny pvp players who buy a space magic game. Then cry every time they die from it.... Like you’re doing. Warlocks have simply been returned to being competitive.

Warlocks were kinda dumped on.
-
Oh yeah.....

Stop living in the past, man, you are obviously butthurt about it. I’ve been a titan since beta of destiny 1 (lol) and I’ve had to deal with crap too. How about you stop complaining about the past and how it was so horrible. The titans right now have gotten terrible forsaken subclasses that aren’t viable in pvp what so ever. The titans don’t even have a ohk grenade unless you put a exotic armor piece on. The warlock on the other hand has some pretty strong stuff that’s includes a super that could easily wipe a team in one go. The grenade is a one hit kill grenade that could kill multiple people. I’m talking about the present motherfücker so stop trying change the subject about the past.

Edited by kellygreen45: 10/12/2018 6:28:04 PMI'm not "living in the past"....and I play all three classes. ...and if you are a veteran player then you should KNOW better than to spout what you are. We have been DOWN this road before....and it leads to a broken game. You will NEVER get this game to play in the way that competitive shooter gamers want it to play without BREAKING it. ..and that's precisely what Bungie did trying to please people like you. They broke the game. They broke the power-fantasy and end-game in PVE...and they sucked all the fun out of the game in PVP. And we were left with a dominant Hunter class....and tryhards still whining about MIDA, Uriels Gift, and Antiope-D being "overpowered". This. NEVER. STOPS. If YOU are going to get butthurt every time you die to something other than PRECISION GUNFIRE, then I suggest you go play a different game's PVP. Because what Bungie seems to FINALLY be waking up to is the point that I was making 4 years ago. That this game is not a shooter....it is a battle-arena. Strong abiltiies are essential to the viability of Warlocks. ON BOTH sides of the game. If you take those away you do not balance the game for Warlocks, you BREAK the game in favor of Hunters in PVP Because you leave them with agility and weapon handling advantages that the other classes have no answer to. ...and make playing Warlocks in PVE frustrating and boring. If I wanted to play the -blam!-ING Master Chief in a game I'd go play Halo. But I'm not going to stand here quietly and let you tryhards BREAK the game again, whining about the same -blam!-ING things. If you want to play Halo. Go play Halo, and stop breaking this game.
-
I just think the maps are just too small. You just don't see roaming supers wipe teams as easily on the larger maps.
-
So your super don’t break the game? It’s people like me “tryhards” who say facts about how good the abilities of nova warp are compared to everybody else. I like the game to be balanced as much as possible. I hate automatic shotguns like the ep one but I still use it for pve. I want a game where every subclass have the potential to have to skill to wipe a team, not no skill involved to wipe a team like nova warp where all you have to do is just teleport and time your explosions right with insult fast speeds (which I think the teleport or speed needs to be nerfed not the damage). I never mentioned anything about nova warp pve by the way bc I’m complaining about the pvp aspect.
-
Nothing about Nova Warp needs to get nerfed It's simply that maps are too small and there aren't reliable ways of taking out roaming supers because of the limited economy with special weapons and energy weapons not taking them down more quickly. If grenade/melee abilities did more damage to guardians in their super and special weapons weren't so limited, people wouldn't be complaining as much.
