No range, no damage, and no ammo. Has bungie said anything on this? Swords are so bad even using them in patrol is an exercise in tedium. I would run any grenade launcher over a sword, even the new exotic one.

I one shot everyone (unless they're using a super) with a single sword swipe.

1 ReplyI wouldn’t mind a sword buff. But what I would really like for them to do is to be to use shaders the n swords. They are the only type of gear that doesn’t have a shader slot. (Minus exotic weapons and that Braytech legendary scout rifle)

Except that whole hunter sword time where that shit ran around like crazy.....

I heard that they were going to increase ammo on swords or something. I dont want just an ammo increase. Swords need to return to how they were in D1. The lunge, damage, ammo and sound need to be reworked to make them fun again.

Edited by joshjda: 6/5/2018 2:10:41 AMActually the problem is that they increased damage on enemy melees by 2x so you die 2x faster trying to use a sword when meleed. Plus they increased enemy fire rates by 2x as well so yeah all close range weapons suck in pve because of this. Remember when you could actually use side arms in pve on d1 have fun with shotguns run around with swords. The only way this comes back is if they reset the enemy fire rates and melee damages.

1 ReplyBungie hates swords

1 ReplyI believe they recently said that they were aware of the problem. I dont know when, but a ammo buff is definetly coming. Btw, sword voidlock with devour is pretty great, especially for making orbs with a masterwork

Because the whole design ethos of Destiny 2 was to nerf our Guardians. Bungie did it to solve some of their design problems, and then convinced themselves that we’d like it and that it would improve the game. They’re trying to walk back that mistake. They’ll eventually have to address swords. But the game has bigger problems right now.
