Sword Swing Bug

Fairly consistently my sword will swipe the opposite direction to the one I've input, or it just bypasses the guardian altogether - when by all rights, it seems to ordinarily have a small amount of target acquisition; is the team aware of this issue? What are the actual parameters for swords within the crucible? This issue has cost my team a fair few games in your new 'glory' ranking, when it should have saved us. I genuinely hope you make efforts to make your competitive mode more relevant in the eSports sector; there is so much potential here.

    LMFAO potential in the eSports sector?!?!? That’s hysterical! Destiny 2 has zero potential for an eSports game. In fact, the strive to become an eSports game is one of the main reasons the Destiny franchise is dying. People who whine and cry about Destiny’s PvP need to be ignored. PvP has brought nothing to the Destiny series besides nerfs, cut content, lack of developer insight, and, of course, more whining salty players. PvP needs to be removed entirely IMO, but I’ll be adequately satisfied for the moment if Bungie starts focusing on better storylines, characters, lore, endgame rewards, fully-developed raids, and definitely better armor design (no, reskins do not count). In conclusion, the strive to make Destiny an eSports game has greatly contributed to the release of a half-assed game with weak storytelling, poor endgame rewards, reskinned gear, throttled XP, and an abundance of micro transactions.

    • Nearly zero esport potential exists for this game with its current PVP server setup, and ridiculous amounts of aim assist.

    • D2 tried to be half e-sport and looter shooter but that doesn't balance itself very well. We all have seen what D2 became once we got our hands on it and it failed miserably. If Bungie wanted to make D2 an e-sport, it should have gone all the way instead of trying to slap in a last minute PvE. I never would have bought D2 if it did go 100% e-sport, I'll tell you that.

        • Simply needs to be D1 standard. But I guess that's asking too much. Swinging an exotic sword in D1 was like swinging the crota sword in escalation protocol...felt powerful.

            I love when a guardian comes around the corner and you go to slice him in two and you end up doing a 180 and hitting nothing by air lol Happens in PVE as well, a cabal is coming around a blind spot and you have him dead to rights but nope, whiff!!!

            • It’s no secret, they nerfed the swords, I loved using them until the last update. Now you can swing point blank on your crucible opponent and completely miss, it’s ridiculous. Now I use colony

              • All forms of hit detection are wacky from swords to melees even guns can be aiming right at a guy's head somehow he doesn't take all the damage and survives with a b.s cm of health

              • While we're at it, how about making it easier to hit flying things, seriously wizards, titans and, warlocks have the easiest counter.

                • I have the same issue. I'm baffled by it. I used to love using swords and now the only attack I can rely on is the powered attack. I don't even bother with normal attacks because they miss. A powered attack will almost magnetize to an enemy anyway.

                  I ran into that today in PvE, but that certainly is not the first time. I was using the World Line Zero, lined up on a Knight, pulled trigger and spun 180 to smack a wall. The knight had a good chuckle I'm sure. As another poster indicated, the other issue is ghosting through your enemy, and in some cases without doing them damage. You start your stroke while they are moving forward and you pass right through them.

                • The swords certainly seem lacking, especially compared to the swords in D1. This happens with the arcstrider as well, it will often ghost through a target or will not lock on to them even though they are right infront of you. The swords act the same way, no target acquisition and will often just ghost through an enemy, in PvP and in PvE.
