  • All you have to do is wait until he is asleep. What a bitch way to go out.

  • Yeah, did you read the book? It really played out differently than I thought it did for the threeish years between watching the movie and reading the book

  • No I did not. I was disappointed that the character and his abilities were made canon. I thought it would have spoken even more to he deceptive nature of Sidious if he was tayloring a lie to latch on to Anakin’s insecurities. Here is how I imagined it: we already know Anakin confides in Palpatine (Palpatine comments on Anakin killing the sand people on Tatooine after the death of Shmi), so Palpatine probably knew about Skywalker’s marriage very early on. Being Supreme Chancellor and head of the Senate, he probably knew Padme was pregnant before Anakin did. My theory, given how Anakin let his guard down around Padme, Palpatine was able to manipulate his dreams giving Anakin a vision of Padme dying in child birth. This would have played on his insecurities and set Anakin on a search for an answer that Palpatine knew the Jedi could not provide (at least not the one Anakin wanted to hear). In his desperation to save her, Anakin would have to look to outside sources, playing right into Palpatine’s hands. This would allow Palpatine to plant a seed of “hope” wrapped in the Dark Side into Anakin’s heart. The story of Plagius’ abilities did not have to be true. Palpatine just had to be convincing. That was my idea anyway. I was a bit annoyed that Lucasfilm copped out and said it was all true.
