Bungie made Destiny 1 folklore tho. The stranger, the queen, most the characters. Thus, d2 is...you got me.

 • Grimoire. Not the game. Big difference. I get you’re trolling, but it’s a really boring and unimaginative trolling effort.

 • Let's actually look at the tweet that started this whole mess
everything in the comics is canon, unless we mess something up. which @ryanqnorth might... but @hellokestrel never does. grimoire is considered folklore, even to the inhabitants of the universe: true as far as they & we know! #destiny2 #bungiecomics #bungie
She used the term folklore instead of lore GASP. You do know they pretty much mean the same thing. But honestly let's look at the more important word. Grimoire
However, the term grimoire later developed into a figure of speech amongst the French indicating something that was hard to understand.
If that dosen't describe the lore in Destiny nothing does. But let's get back to what OP is really talking about. There is a small group of people in the community that enjoy and love the lore of the Destiny Universe. And lately when ever a lore post get posted they are inundated with comments like yours. Did you know Asher Mir was in the Grimoire before Destiny 2 and he may have information to where Eris Morn is. Also Eris knew something was coming or as she called it "A Storm" well before the Tower was attacked. Hell one card can be read that Eris tried to get Cayde to leave the tower and not to return till he had a replacement for her ship. It could be she just wanted him to leave her alone, or it could be she didn't want to or couldn't tell him about what was to come but wanted him to be far away from the tower when it happened. And after you type up something about that you get the response. But Destiny 1 is folklore...

 • See now I had given that line of thinking a chance but no, you cannot defend the writers anymore.

 • I watched the whole thing and that really is making much ado about very little. I'd grant that FWC being present at the consensus meeting in FoO and referenced in the Curse of Foresight tab is questionable, but there's no reference to an actual vote being cast by FWC. That was pure conjecture on his part. Also, a representative being present at a meeting isn't the same as an entire faction being allowed in the Tower. There's a whole lot of assumptions that have to be made for to claim that CoO/FoO represents a retcon as drastic as he's making it out to be, if you can even call it a retcon at all. Also, I find Sagira's accusation in the Sagira's Shell tab that Ikora led the group that banished Osiris more troubling for continuity than anything he mentioned, because that's not what's presented in CoO or FoO at all. Ikora in all other instances has Osiris' back. Even then I'd give the benefit of the doubt to the writer's if there was a larger falling out between Osiris and Ikora that we don't know about. The entire second half about Shaxx and the Crucible is a massive reach IMO. There's absolutely zero proof in any D1 lore that the Crucible didn't exist prior to Twilight Gap. He makes a huge deal out of it when There's really just a lack of information about the Crucible in D1. That doesn't interrupt continuity.

 • http://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/battle-of-twilight-gap This very strongly implies the crucible was founded after the battle of twilight gap..at the very least confirms Shaxx's crucible was after the battle of twilight gap and FoO contradicts that in my eyes.

It's not a contradiction because its referenced in the lore that Shaxx and Ikora competed in the Crucible before Twilight Gap. Just because he didn't run it doesn't mean it didn't exist. I thought Joker was really strong when he focused on Ikora and her being out of character, I'd likevsome clarification from Bungie there, but he's making a mountain out of a molehill with pretty much everything else IMO. It's just not enough for me to toss out the rest of the lore and write it off as "folklore."

 • And you shouldn't but I don't have much faith the writers feel the same.

 • Sorry sick of people posting a video instead of posting their actual opinion. Stephen King once said you truly do not understand a subject till you have sat down and wrote out your opinion on it. So not going to bother to even click on your link. But if you want to have a discussion I’m here.

 • I've shared my own opinion many times but the key points in the video aren't opinion. They are facts detailing the disregard of continuity by these new writers who clearly have very little knowledge of the lore to begin with. It's much faster to post a link than type it all out when there is no need to. If you aren't willing to see the reasons why people are so angered (yeah it is more than just a single tweet) perhaps you've got little room to talk. You can't have a discussion until you've got the facts.

 • I posted the tweet that started it I know there is more but I wanted to put the folklore thing in context for the guy I was responding to. There is no point in getting fired up about the usage of Folklore and Lore. Plenty to get pissed about when it comes to them destroying said folklore for a half assed incoherent story or being a out right a-hole to the community. But I think you just read the part about the tweet got all fired up and came into reply. The guy was doing what the original post was about Folklore tho, with no understanding on the subject or how that stupid meme even got started. So I figured I would Edubacate him a little.
