So if a Bungie employee came up and asked you to summarize your complete Destiny experience, what would you say?
This question came up recently when I was raiding and I figured it would be an interesting topic.
Personally,
"I like the Destiny universe. I like the enemies and how certain enemies are unique and powerful. Crucible I'll admit I like to win and thus I don't play that often because the gaming community I'm a part of don't play a single game. We play many and that is the source of our strength is being able to say that Halo has a much better sprint system then we do or the capabilities and storytelling of Final Fantasy games is unparalleled or the fact that Fortnite does a better job at getting people with mics together so we can laugh and make callouts better. These aspects are why we don't play Destiny in crucible a lot. Where those other games are fun and more in tune with it's players is where crucible consistently falls short.
My solution to that is simple: More gametypes, more maps, and more fun. Give us a reason to go back and forth from the various planets too for coordination. I'd love a fun IO map which features a giant loop around aspect to signal the SRL players who would say, "Oh, I can jump that." or "Oh, I can get up their with a sparrow" just to name one example.
PvE wise? I keep playing because of it. Like Heroic strikes and normal strikes. Like Faction Rally though, if it was possible, I'd actually like to change the landscape of the Tower. We've had season 2 pretty much come to a close and it is literally the exact same cosmetic tower. Show changes or upgrades or modifications in my opinion. Show progress. Make it a mini game if you will. If 10,000 acts go towards... a shield generator. Put in a shield generator. Show % of progress in case people are curious."

Short and sweet would be: Three years of most likely crippling addiction, of mini goal after mini goal after mini goal to chase, and getting lost in the lore (with the help of Youtubers) then followed up by crippling disappointment in a title that was supposed to improve on its predecessor that has regressed so far it is going to take to the first major expansion to get anywhere close to being in the same ball park of the first title. Well, content and I guess gameplay wise. Lore is dead and never coming back. The cannon comics are garbage and dont even follow the lore they put in D2, let alone stuff from D1. I get that the current writing team had nothing to do with D1 and therefore resent what is there and want to reject it and make their own but thats not how that should work. Build new stories, fill in the gaps, etc. Dont go back and ruin it all and put in terrible story and dialogue (does everyone need to be quirky comic relief?). The only thing close to feeling like old D1 is the Calus related lore. I cannot imagine this narrative team working on this title doing anything like the work that was The Taken King. Hell, I cant see this narrative team doing anything darker than "remember that time I stubbed my toe and dropped my ice cream" and that is depressing for what was and still should be a grimdark universe. Also when are we going to hear anything about why I should be excited about my next Better Devils? Masterworks and inserting a mod on an already gotten BDs isnt going to make me excited. Well, I guess it was meant to be short but I kept going...
